A Delphi protocol being used to address milestones for each procedure on a research basis. 3.3 Practice Eligibility Route to Certification (PER) The Specialty Committee continues to work with the RCPSC to implement this policy. 3.4 Guidelines for International Electives The Specialty Committee is developing formal requirements for electives in global surgery 4.0 New Business: 4.1 RCPSC Specialty Examination Changes The RCPSC has moved to split the written and oral examinations for the first time this year. The written exam was completed at different centres across the country, and the oral was once again in Ottawa.. 4.2 Membership of RCPSC Specialty Committee The RCPSC is moving away from having Program Directors as Nucleus members on the Specialty Committee. This affects Drs. Vaccani and G. Corsten. Although both are “grandfathered” and there is no urgency to replacing them, we are looking at alternatives that would bring representation of both regions as well as subspecialties. 5.0 Specialty Documents Specific Standards of Accreditation (SSA): New Version implemented July 2011 Revised March 2013 Pre-survey Questionnaire (PSQ): New Version implemented July 2011 Revised March 2013 Objectives of Training (OTR): New Version implemented July 2011 Specialty Training Requirements (STR): New Version implemented July 2011 Revised November 2012 FITER: New Version implemented July 2011
