All the course material is designed to work with Windows XP Phonetics The phonetics course is presented as audio recordings that can be played on the included setup of Acen ‘auditext’ virtual recorder. This provides a facility to listen to the pronunciation and repeating after the model. The student’s voice gets recorded for easy comparison with the model voice. There are tracks parallel to the audio tracks for entering text in desired scripts. Worksheets to be used with the lessons are included as pdf files and are to be printed and used. Grammar The grammar section is divided in to 5 parts. Each part consists of two lessons. The lessons are video files. The course is dongle protected and the dongle must be connected to a USB port of the computer before use. The student has to insert the CD relevant to the part of the course and import the same on his computer. Once the required part is imported on the computer it is saved for reuse. 2. Institutional Version: Available as an institutional version for upto 30 students. The license is for either 1 year or perpetual. In this case all the features remain just like the student version but it also includes basic language lab functions - teacher/student interaction like intercom, group discussion, paired conversation, public address etc. It also includes a blank question bank for the teacher to create new question papers for target student groups. The user has to install the components on the teacher’s as well as the students’ computers. All computers need to be connected in a LAN. A single dongle is used on the teacher’s computer.
