The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) permits college and seminary students to view
materials contained in his/her education record. Letters of reference are discarded upon acceptance to Richmont and
are not considered part of the student’s record.
Because some individuals may be hesitant to write a letter of recommendation if confidentiality is not guaranteed,
students may choose to waive the right to view letters of recommendation. Signing such a waiver is not required nor
is it a condition of admission to Richmont.
After all the materials have been received, you will be notified. ASSUME THAT YOUR APPLICATION IS
INCOMPLETE UNTIL YOU HAVE A WRITTEN NOTICE SAYING THAT ALL MATERIALS HAVE
BEEN RECEIVED. You are encouraged to inquire if you think your application should be complete, but you have
