Finance – bank balance is positive now covering the 6 months mortgage payments we
agreed to establish with club trustees.
The England ranking bronze tournament made a net profit of £621.50 (excluding sale of
the spare t-shirts). Virtually all the money was made on the kitchen with entry fees just
breaking even on costs so next year the reduced multiple entry fees will need raising.
Trophies for the full year are about to be purchased which will be a significant bill.
Committee agreed to buy all next year’s at the same time to be ahead in planning.
All but one sponsor has paid for the back of court labels.


Sign to put up for members to bring glasses through from the squash area to
the bar

Video cameras to monitor and protect internal assets (£300)

Court 1 to be cleaned down – date to set for volunteers to come and help

Suggestion made to interlock heating to court timers to prevent heating courts
when not in use

Suggestion to separate court lights from kitchen due to fuses blowing at big
events
Secretary report – the county has been awarded Grassroots Funding and Redcar will be
one of the areas that benefits from a coach coming into 6 local primary schools to
introduce squash.

Firsts are subject to a county AGM proposal to retain them in premier (11th
May)

Seconds sealed promotion and won for the fourth division title

Thirds also gained promotion

Fourths did very well and made mid-table

Ladies did very well with over 70 points; Total Fitness asking for a mixed mens /
ladies friendly match

Gareth Rutherford won div 4 points with Brian Duke in fourth; Dawn in top five
for ladies; Sam Etherington was top Redcar points scorer

Brian Duke kindly ran the county team handicap tournament this year and finals
were hosted at Redcar.

Car treasure hunt date to rearrange

Interest will be gauged in the Three Peaks Walk, probably aimed at 1st June

There is interest in a number of bike rides including local half day / full day ones and
multi-day ones especially Coast and Castles (Newcastle to Edinburgh).

Juniors
Coaching ends on 10th May for the closed season. 43 children attended at least one
coaching session. A RECORD 34 CHILDREN PLAYED AT LEAST ONE LEAGUE MATCH.

Plaque to organise to celebrate the people who donated £500 each for the new courts

Redcar are hosting a level two coaching course in July and September. Attendance is
not funded by the club.
Redcar has submitted an entry to an all-sports north east award but the competition is
expected to be intense.

A birthday party was held using a bouncy castle on the courts; the relative host of
buying one cf hiring each time will be explored

During competitions courts are being booked and not used. For the next competition
(the Hackers), the option to set a date by which players organise their own matches will
be explored.

Hosted O60s inter-county for the first time (3/4 Nov)

Hosted junior county training for the first time

Hosted regional U11 All Stars coaching for the first time (23 Nov)

2 social walks

Hosted Preston tour tournament

Hosting county handicap tournament finals for the first time

Ran monthly leagues, Team Blitz, Hackers, Christmas Blitz, Junior Blitz

Ran four Sportivate programmes

Hosted the county’s first graded tournament for several years

Attended the two day national squash coaching conference at Lillieshall as run
by England Squash

New lighting system installed on court 2

Wifi booster installed

(Significant heating repair to court 1)

Hosted girls under 13 inter-county matches

Took 19 people on tour to Isle of Man

12 people came down and cleaned court 2 over 5 hours

Redcar, but not her last.
