LSI chip and surface mount technology (SMT) ens ures exceptional reliabilit y and st ability. Standard B/W camera provides 250,920(EIA)/291,000(CCIR) pixels and 420 TV lines of horizontal resolution. Standard Colour camera provides 251,904(NTSC)/297,984(PAL) pixels and 430 TV lines of horizontal resolut ion. IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS GRAPHIC SYMBOL EXPLANATION The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the presence of isolated “dangerous voltage” within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons. The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the unit. 1/4 Important Safety Instructions When using the unit, basic safety precautions as below should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury. 1. Read and understand all instructions. 2. Follow all instructions marked on this unit 3. Unplug this unit before cleaning. on this unit. Use a damp cloth – not liquid or aerosol cleaners. Not spill any liquid 4. Do not use this unit near water. 5. Do not expose the unit to extreme heat or cold. 6. Install this unit securely on a stable mounting bracket. Serious damage may result if the unit falls. 7. When using the unit at places where the lighting differs greatly, suggest to using the auto iris lenses. 8. Use only the power source as marked on the unit. If you are not sure of the type of the power supply to your home, consult your dealer or local power company. 9. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble this unit, but take it to the qualified servicemen when some service or repair work is required. Opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltages or other risks. Incorrect reassembly can cause electric shock when the appliance is subsequently used. Installation 1. Unplug the unit from power outlet before installation and connection. 2. Use 75-Ohm coaxial cable with copper bare shield. (RG-59U) 3. The camera can be mounted on the wall, ceiling or a stable surface with a mounting bracket. - Fasten the bracket onto wall or ceiling with screw; - fasten the camera onto the bracket. 4. The reference for the locations, function of the parts & accessories. * * AES Automatic Electronic Shutter Off: When using Auto Iris lens On: When using None Auto Iris Lens AI Lens: when using AI Lens, please follow the sequence below for wire connection a) Video Drive AI Lens (with amp) 1. Set switch to “AI” position. 2. Fit AI Lens on camera. 3. Connect AI Lens wire to “AI” terminal b) Direct Drive AI Lens (without amp) 1. Set switch to “AI AMP” position. 2/4 2. Fit AI Lens on camera. 3. Connect AI Lens wire to “AI AMP” terminal c) Please do not misuse AI Lens (with amp) wire connect to AI AMP terminal; otherwise, AI Lens would be burned out. * GAMMA Off: When using Auto Iris lens On: When using None Auto Iris Lens Included Accessories Unpacking you new CCD camera, you will find the following 1 . Basic System Single camera/monitor Connect AC main power to the camera. Connect the BNC type video output connector of the camera directly to the monitor. II. Multiple Surveillance System Single camera/ Multiple monitors a) Bridge System All monitors is connected in series. Only the last monitor may have an input impedance of 75 ohms. All other monitors must have high input impedance. b) Distribution System The video signal output of the camera is connected to a video distribution unit. All monitors are then connected to the output of the distribution unit in parallel. III. Collective Surveillance System Multiple cameras/Single monitor Video signal outputs of all cameras are connected to a video switching unit in parallel. The monitor is than connected to the output of the switching unit. 3/4 IV. Long Distance Transmission System if the wiring distance between the camera and the monitor is over 100 meters, it is recommended that a video amplifier should be added to boost the video signal and to compensate for the cabling. IV. Remote Control System The camera can be mounted on a remotely controlled pan and tilt unit so that a greater area can be monitored under the control of the operator. note: 1. All video signal wiring should be 75-ohm coaxial cable. 2. VS = video signal Choosing A Lens You can choose a lens of any focal length with standard “C” mount to your particular application. For the best results, use lens with a 1/3” image format. If lens with 1/2” image format is used instead, the total surveyed area will become smaller with a corresponding increase in the size of the image when compared with 1/3” image format lens of he same focal length. If the picture showing on the monitor is too bright while using a standard lens, you may want to choose a manual iris lens instead, adjusting the iris manually to obtain the best picture. If a wider area is to be surveyed, a wide-angle lens should be considered. If the light intensity of the surveyed area changes greatly at different times, an auto-iris lens should be considered. Initial Adjustment After the CCTV surveillance system has been installed, some initial adjustments are necessary for the best results. a) Plug in and switch on the monitor, allowing 30 seconds for the unit to warn up. b) Adjust “BRIGHTNESS”, “CONTRAST”, “V.HOLD” AND “H.HOLD” controls where necessary to obtain the best picture display. c) Aiming the camera at an object at the desired range, adjust the focus ring on the camera lens to obtain a clear, sharp image on the monitor. If a pan unit is used, adjust the scanning angle as needed. 4/4
