2008 ACS Bowling Rules

1.

LEAGUE ORGANIZATION

The governing body of this league is composed of the Atlanta Catholic Sports Bowling

(ACSB) Board of Directors.

UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT

We challenge each team to be creative with Team Uniforms (Not required)

3.

ELIGIBILITY

ROSTERS: Each team must submit a completed team roster (Via Email) to bowling@atlantacatholicsports.org

by January 11, 2008.

Each roster will consist of 4 bowlers (any combination of Men and Women) 19 years and older.

NOTE: Please fill out the full roster. Incomplete rosters will be returned.

Current (active within last 12 months) college students who play for a college team or professional/semi-pro players (anyone who gets paid to play sports) will be not be allowed to play in this league. A player cannot be listed on more than one roster in the ACSB.

All fees must be paid prior to anyone bowling. NO EXCEPTONS.

For Saint Bridit’s Christina Aden will continue as the Team Captain and will coordinate all administration as she did last year.

For all other parishes, please mail your checks to Faith Staut, 7275

You may pay ½ the first night ($65.00) and the second ½ will be due on

March 12 th

ACS MEMBERSHIP NUMBER / WAIVER: All bowlers must have a valid ACS membership ID number (indication to us that ACS waiver has been completed) BEFORE he/she plays in his/her first ACSB game. Contact ACS membership at

PLAYER CONDUCT

Players are expected to abide by the ACS sportsmanship contract on the back of the ACS membership form signed during ACS membership registration process. No rowdiness, malicious language, dangerous play, or display of unsportsmanlike behavior will be tolerated. Players or captains who are found to be in violation of this rule are subject to suspension from the game and the following one. Depending on the seriousness of the violation, the player or captain may be suspended for the remainder of the season, as determined by the Board of Directors.

RULES SUMMARY

1) The league will bowl for 10 weeks, starting on January 15, 2007 and ending March

18, 2008 . Practice bowling will begin at 7:15 p.m. each Tuesday. League bowling will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. A member arriving late may bowl provided that the first ball of the 4 th

frame has not yet been rolled.

2) This league will be composed of 16 teams. Each team will consist of 4 members per team 2 guys / 2 ladies is suggested and encouraged. (Any combination of men and women will require approval by the bowling commissioners) .

The handicap will be 100% of the difference between the bowler’s average and 200.

4)

A bowler’s average is established upon completion of their first three games and will count towards wins and loses.

5) This league will compete using a 7-point system. 2 points each game, and 1 point for total pins.

6) An absentee score will be the missing bowler’s average minus 10 pins if no sub is used.

7) Substitution is allowed , but 2 regular paid members must be present. The regular member is responsible for the fees . A score of 120 for women plus 80 handicap, and

140 for men plus 60 handicap will be used when a handicap is not established.

8) Payments not received prior or with permission by the commissioners the night of the first week they will not be allowed to bowl . a) Their first weeks score will be based on their average with handicap. b) If they fail to pay by the second week, the team will need pay the fee on behalf of the team member and fill the position by week three. c) If the position has not been fill by the third week, then the commissioners with the team captains will need to discuss other options.

9) Pre-bowling, these games should be bowled 1 week before the scheduled match and prior to that week’s game.

10) Post-bowling these games should be bowled 1 week after the scheduled match and prior to the next game.

ACSB 2007 Official Rules

11) When a team bowls unopposed, the scores of the first team will be withheld until after both teams have bowled. When a pre-bowled or unopposed occurs, these games should be bowled 1 week before or 1 week after the scheduled match. TEAMS

MUST BE IN AGREEMENT and the League Coordinator MUST be notified 48 hours prior to the scheduled time of the match except those granted emergencies.

12) When a team fails to have a minimum legal lineup or when bowling against a vacant team, the opposing team must bowl within 40 pins of their current team scratch total in order to win points. Points not won for failing to bowl the prescribed score will not be credited to either team.
