Introductions
1.
Show the students some items a detective might use. Ask
them who would use these items and what they would use
them for. Tell them that today we will read about some
detectives that try to solve a difficult mystery.
2.
Show the students a picture of the Cobweb Queen. Ask the
students to describe the characteristics of a bad Queen or
witch. Let’s read about the witch called the Cobweb Queen
and see what kind of witchy things she does.
3.
Show the students a picture of a spooky castle. Ask the
students who might live there. Ask them if they would ever
go into a castle like that to explore. Today we are going to
read about an evil witch who lives in cobweb castle and the
children who visit there.
