LATE ENTRIES: Entries received after 16.1.13 will
be accepted up until one hour before the class.
An extra 25% will be added if you are entered in
other classes.
An extra 50% will be added for total new entries.
REFUNDS: Exhibitors desiring refund of entry fees
must apply in writing enclosing a Veterinarian’s or
Doctor’s Certificate.
All refunds will be made less 25%.
Competitors ride at their own risk, they must be
suitably attired.
HEADGEAR: All riders 16 years and under must
wear protective headgear, which includes a retaining
harness secured to the shell at more than two points.
Such headgear must be worn with the chinstrap
properly adjusted and fastened when in the arena or
ring the practice area, collecting rings or anywhere
else within the showgrounds.
All riders 17 years and over must wear riding caps in
all events.
Safety harness is recommended in all jumping
events.
Judges decision is final.
All prize money/vouchers/product will be paid out on
show day.
SPECIAL ATTENTION IS DIRECTED TO THESE
RULES:
The Royal Agricultural Society of NZ and its affiliated
shows recognise the Horse of the Year Show, flat
events, ridden ponies, hacks, saddle (flat) hunters
and led sport horse breed classes for intents &
purposes as A & P events.
PROTEST PROCEDURE:
1. The fee for lodging the protest is $50.00.
2. The party lodging the protest shall pay in cash
when lodging the protest.
3. The protest shall be lodged with the Secretary in
writing within one hour of the judge's result in the
said event.
4. The fee shall be refunded if the protest is upheld.
Horse and pony stewards must record the time of the
judges final decision on all events.
MEASURING: Measuring must be done prior to show
day. Current Height certificates must be carried on
showday.
Park Hack entries 158.0cms and under.
The Warkworth Show will be conducted under the
General Rules and Regulations as approved by the
R.A.S. of NZ.
These rules are available at the Secretary's office.
TESTING FOR FORBIDDEN SUBSTANCES:
The use of tranquilisers, stimulants or any drug
capable of affecting the performance of horses or
ponies is forbidden. Competitors are advised that
tests for forbidden substances will be carried out
during the show and that testing of all animals is at
the owner’s risk. Testing for forbidden substances will
be carried out under the Royal Agricultural Society
(Inc) Forbidden Substance Judiciary Committee
(FSJC) procedures and rules (Refer Rule 112 RAS
Equestrian Competitors and Judges Rule Book and
Rule 55A of the RAS General Rules and
Regulations.
The Society reserves the right to amalgamate undersubscribed classes or cancel under-subscribed rings.
The Society reserves the right to exchange prize
money for products or Product vouchers
OVERNIGHT HORSE ACCOMMODATION:
Competitors are welcome to camp overnight on the
grounds free of charge but all horses and ponies
MUST be kept in the yards allocated. All yards to be
cleaned and dung placed in the bins provided. We
have a limited number of yards, therefore it is
advisable to book yards and pay fees with your
entries as yards will be allocated on a first booked
and paid for basis. If you require shavings, please
bring them with you.
NO TEMPORARY PENS, TAPES, ETC ALLOWED.

A reminder to competitors that wish to compete at NZ
HOY 2013. You need to qualify for your title events you need to get your qualifications filled out and wins
signed off by the Show Secretary or Equestrian
Convenor at the show.
CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFICATION can be
downloaded from the HOY website www.hoy.co.nz/.../2013%20HOY% You need to
carry this with you and get it signed off at the show.

We are splitting our sport horse classes to allow
competitors to qualify for the Led Horse Section at
Horse of the Year Show. Championship winners in
the Led Show Horse division will be eligible to
compete. Please see www.hoy.co.nz for details.
Performance horses are deemed to be those suitable
for the Olympic disciplines of dressage, showjumping
and eventing whilst the Led Show Horse classes are
aimed at those suitable for A & P Showing.
All horses entered in either of these sections are to
mature over 148cm.
Horses do not have to be registered to enter these
classes.
Led classes for young stock, date of birth and
breeding are to be stated on the entry form.
All horses 2 yrs of age and over must be shown in a
bit.
NOTE: No entire to be under the control of a person
under the age of 18 yrs. Any entire or unbroken
horse must be held under strict control at all times.
**Supreme Hi Points Sash will go to the horse
with the most points overall in both sections**
