Breeding Contract
This agreement between Red Ghost Alpacas (hereinafter referred to as the “breeder”) and
___________________________ (hereinafter referred to as the “dam owner”) is for the
breeding services to be provided by Red Ghost Alpacas. The Dam Owner has a female alpaca
named _______________________ with ARI #______________ which the Dam Owner
desires to breed to Snowmass Chateau with ARI # 1396904 (the Sire) that is an alpaca
herdsire owned (in part or completely) by Red Ghost Alpacas. Red Ghost Alpacas agrees to
breed these alpacas, subject to the terms of this agreement, for the purchase of:
The Donated Breeding to AOA Herdsire Auction 2014.
The Owners of the Dam will deliver her to the (Farm) on or
about____________20__. For the breeding and take the dam back to
the Owner’s farm on the same day as the breeding.
The Dam Owners will be responsible for the confirmation of the pregnancy at their own
expense.
The Dam Owner represents that to the best of their knowledge, the Dam is healthy and free of
all disease, capable of reproduction and that the dam (and cria if accompanying) are covered
by full mortality and theft insurance. The Dam Owner shall provide the following items prior to
the delivery of the alpaca(s) to the Farm.

Alpaca Registry Certificate (copy).
Information regarding known genetic defects of the Dam or any offspring.
Information concerning prior problem pregnancies or births.
Record of any exposure to breeding males within the last 90 days.
Current health certificate (30 days) from a licensed veterinarian that states the
female is current with all required vaccinations and free of parasites, hoof rot, sore
mouth, abscesses, and all diseases and infections as required by state law.
6. A copy of the alpaca’s health records for the past 45 days.
7. Dam and cria, if applicable, at some point in their lives, BVDV screening via PCR to
verify negative PI status. Copy of report or dates must be indicated on Health
Certificate.
8. Proof of insurance not necessary, but recommended.
The Breeders will provide the following as Breeding Fee Guarantees:
1. If the fetus dies prior to full term, or the breeding does not take, the breeders will
provide a breeding to the same herdsire at no cost.
2. If the cria dies at birth or within the first 30 days of birth, the breeders will provide a
free breeding to the same herdsire at no cost.
3. If it is determined that the herdsire and Dam are incompatible or that the original
herdsire is no longer available, the breeders will provide a free breeding to another
solely owned herdsire of the Dam Owners choice. There will be no refunds of
breeding fees.
Any re-breeding options shall be exercised within 18 months of the date the stud
fee was earned, or it shall expire and be considered waived. The 30 day live birth
guarantee will be null and void should the cria be found to have expired due to neglect
on the part of the Dam Owner.
The breeder and the farm using ordinary standards of care, accepts no responsibility for
injury to, or death of the Dam or Cria during breeding or for the death of the Dam during
pregnancy or while giving birth. The breeders accept no liability for the loss of the fetus during
pregnancy, a stillbirth, or death of the offspring immediately after birth. The breeders accept no
liability for birth defects or other abnormalities in the sired newborn offspring.
It is the parties’ expectation that the Dam will be brought to the Farm for the breeding
within 18 months of signing this contract.
This agreement represents the entire agreement between The Breeders and The Dam Owner
and supersedes all previous agreements. This agreement will be governed by the laws of The
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
This contract is not assignable in part or in whole.
