Green Eggs (and Ham)
1. Intro to cabbage juice
2. Crack egg, separate yolk from white, mix egg white and red cabbage juice, egg
becomes green, cook egg inside house (with yolk)

4. Pass around pH scale, explain that you can use the cabbage juice indicator on
anything

Hot Ice
1. Intro to sodium acetate
2. Pour chilled sodium acetate mixture in tray, have volunteer touch it, ice begins
to crystallize and freeze, display to everyone, pass tray around
3. Pour chilled sodium acetate from a beaker onto a tray into a tall sculpture,
display to everyone, pass tray around

Place 2 batteries into cup of water, explain that it will be used for a later experiment

2. Put soap in microwave, heat, soap expands, cut a chunk off, display, pass

3. Remove batteries from water, light match, touch match to surface of water,
surface of water catches fire

Ice Cream

6. Demonstrate how to make ice cream, pass out ingredients, let everyone make
their ice cream
a. Put 1 tablespoon sugar, 1/2 cup milk, and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
extract in sandwich bag
b. Put 2 tablespoon rock salt and sandwich bag in gallon bag
c. Fill the gallon bag ¾ full of ice
d. Shake and knead bag for 10-15 minutes
e. Eat contents of sandwich bag
