DECLARATION OF RESIDENCE The declaration of residence of citizens of the Republic of Slovenia and aliens shall be regulated by the Residence Registration Act. Declaration of temporary residence If you are a citizen of a third state and you reside in the Republic of Slovenia on the basis of a temporary residence permit, or you are a citizen of an EEA Member State and you reside in the Republic of Slovenia on the basis of a certificate of registered residence, you are obliged to register your temporary residence at any administrative unit within 3 days following your accommodation or the delivery of your temporary residence permit or certificate of registered residence. Should you stay in accommodation facilities, the landlords of such facilities are obliged to submit your temporary residence. A declaration of temporary residence may last a maximum of one year. A declaration of temporary residence should be renewed by you or your landlord within eight days after the expiry of the declaration. If you file an application for the renewal of your temporary residence permit or for the issue of a further temporary residence permit or renewal of the certificate of registered residence in a timely fashion, the competent authority shall renew your declaration of temporary residence for the period it takes to process the application; after the delivery of your temporary residence permit or certificate of registered residence, the declaration of temporary residence should be renewed by you or your landlord. Declaration of permanent residence You must declare your permanent residence at any administrative unit within eight days from the delivery of your permanent residence permit.
