Research Interests

The field of my interest is ecotoxicology of microalgae, in particular of Batlic microalgae and cyanobacteria. I am investigating what influence toxic compounds and substances (nanosilver, recently introduced in industry) have on those organisms. In my studies I use innovative methods: analyzing chlorophyll a fluorescence and measuring rate of photosynthesis to determine what impact nanosubstances have on algae.

Educational Background undergraduate: o since 01.10.2009 Ph.D student in Department of Marine Ecosystems Functioning,

Institute of Oceanography, University of Gdańsk, Poland graduate: o 29.06.2009 MSc, Department of Marine Ecosystems Functioning, Institute of

Oceanography, University of Gdańsk, title of thesis: “The use of algal tests to assess the harmful effect of ionic liquids on marine environment” o 2004-2009 studies in the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography at University of

Gdańsk o 2000-2004 Stefan Żeromski High School no. 5, Gdańsk, Poland

Travel support

I require funds for travel to the meeting. Round-trip plane ticket to Majorca costs about 1000 PLN (230 euro). I kindly ask for funds, because our department does not have requested sum of money, moreover, it is very difficult, especially during this year, to get any additional funding from our university or other institutions.

The session theme
