The Axia Public Relations Scholarship Sponsored by the Axia Public Relations firm and the PRSA Foundation This scholarship was established in 2013 by the Axia Public Relations firm to assist college students in their pursuit of careers in public relations. This scholarship will be awarded to students who demonstrate a passion for public relations as well as a dedication to professional ethics and excellence. In line with the PRSA Foundation mission and our firm’s and industry’s commitment to diversity, Axia Public Relations encourages candidates from all ethnic backgrounds to apply. Entries will be judged by a committee of seasoned public relations professionals. Award: $2,000 ● This award will be payable to the winner’s university for use on his or her behalf, and can only be used to directly fund the winner’s educational pursuits. ● Winner(s) of the Axia Public Relations Scholarship will also earn an optional internship opportunity at Axia Public Relations. Requirements Applicants must meet the following criteria: ● ● ● Candidate must be a junior or senior in good academic standing at an accredited university Candidate must be a student majoring in public relations, journalism, communications, advertising or marketing, with a commitment to working in a public relations profession Candidate must have previous public relations or related experience through volunteering, employment or an internship Preferences The below preferences are not required to apply to the Axia Public Relations Scholarship, but are preferred qualities for scholarship candidates. ● ● ● ● A demonstrable tie to Florida, Georgia or Missouri, whether through residency, graduating from a high school or attending college in any of these states A specific interest in media relations, reputation management, social media and crisis communications career paths Significant accomplishments outside of the classroom Membership in PRSSA or other (student or professional) public relations and/or marketing organizations and associations We especially encourage candidates from diverse gender, ethnic, and racial backgrounds to apply. Academic achievements and grade point average (GPA) will only be considered in the event of a tie between or among otherwise equally qualified candidates.
