Consultancies
(i) Member of a consultancy team for the evaluation of the impact of the Agroforestry/Energy centres of
(ii) Served on several occasion as a resource person in most courses organized by
JICA/KEFRI and other NGOs (e.g., KWAP, Technical Study Tours) on soil
conservation and Agroforestry.
(iii) Undertook a study on organic matter management among small scale farmers as
well as being advocated by various NGOs and Government departments in the
country in 1994 for SIDA as part of fellowships offered to the Ministry's staff.

(iv). Undertook an Agroforestry Evaluation exercise jointly with KEFRI and MENRFD staff with a view to making recommendations for the improvement of agroforestry
extension within the MoALD&M .
(v). A member of Programme Progress Review team for the GTZ programme ,
Integrated Food Security Programme -Eastern Province (IFSP-E) a Kenyan -German
Development Cooperation, 1998.
(vi). A member of consultancy team reviewing Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Finland’s
micro finance cooperation, 2006.
Honours and awards
1984 SIDA Scholarship for post-graduate studies at the University of Nairobi.
1990. SIDA Scholarship for an MSc at University of Florida, United States of
America.
1994 Fellowship by Regional Soil Conservation Unit (RSCU)/SIDA to undertake a
four months study on the utilisation and management of organic matter on small
scale-farms.
