SHORT STORY Short Story is a refereed scholarly journal published every Spring and Fall. It is a joint publication of the University of Texas at Brownsville, SUNY –Oneonta and Claflin University, SC. Subscriptions are $10.00 annually; single issues are $4.00 each. The editors solicit manuscripts on every aspect of the short story, particularly those with a theoretical basis, as well as previously unpublished short stories, short stories in translation, book reviews, and interviews. All submissions must be accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope. Articles should not exceed 4000 words. Notes should be inserted at the end. Contributors should follow the MLA Handbook, latest edition. Opinions expressed are those of the contributors alone and should not be attributed to the editors, to personnel of any of the universities, or to any other person. Short Story is the only journal in the literary field that publishes original short stories, critical articles on any facet of the short story, book reviews of short story collections, and interviews of prominent short story writers (national and international) all under one cover. Occasionally, there are special issues of Short Story dedicated to a particular region, idea, or author: Short Story 13.1 is a special Canadian issue subtitled Tripping Across the 49 th Parallel exploring the place of the short story Canadian writers; Short Story 15.1 is a special issue on the African Diaspora in North America and the Caribbean; and Short Story 15.2 is dedicated to the author Clark Blaise. Other special issues of Short Story are forthcoming.
