Fertility Spells
Casting spells can be done by praying, chanting, singing, rhyming, speaking [out loud/inside your head] and/or in writing
– in other words, visualizing and focusing in on the need. A good time to cast a spell is during the waxing moon [from
New Moon to Full Moon]. Waxing moons are “growing” – helping your spell grow. However, a beautiful, sunny day is just
as appropriate. Try to make sure that when you “do” your spell, you’re as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
Colours, Candles, Scents and Aromatherapy
Combining colours, candles, and fragrances together is an easy way to both energize and synergize a spell. All the
colours and fragrances can be worn, be incorporated into any candles that you burn, or be part of your decor. [And
please snuff your candles – blowing them out will blow away the magic.]
 Blue for serenity and calmness
 Pink for gentle love and rose [colour or scent] for peacefulness and to promote love and romance. Rose essential oil
is a hormonal stimulant.
 Lavender [colour or scent] for affection, relaxation, and to synergize any other colours and/or scents.
 Red for lusty sex and passion.
 Gardenia fragrance for the ladies and patchouli fragrance for the guys will make you attractive to each other and will
make you both feel sexy. [‘Coz after all, making love is an important ingredient in getting pregnant!] [Gardenia is one
of the ingredients in Chanel No5, the world’s best selling perfume.]
 Green is the colour of fertility. So, too, are brown and black as they represent the colours of earth – a key ingredient
to fertility of crops – leading to good health – leading to good procreation.
 White is the colour of hope.
 Gold is the colour of positive thinking.
 Orange flowers in your bath make you attractive; whereas, marigold flowers added to your bath makes you admired.
Both orange and marigold flowers and fragrances also uplift and energize.
Numbers and Days


6 is the number of fertility and related to almost all of the fertility/corn/love goddesses.
Fertility Goddesses are
numerous – choose your own favourite[s]. Practically any “Mother” Goddess is also a Fertility Goddess.
Fertility is related to Mondays; whereas, 6 and Fridays are both related to Aphrodite/Venus. Maybe it’s not a bad idea
to plan your let’s-get-pregnant for those two days. [Recent studies have shown that having sex twice weekly makes a
healthy marriage.]
Symbols
Fertility symbols abound –prehistoric, ancient, and modern.
 Any symbol that represents grain [rye, wheat, barley, oats, etc] or corn will enhance fertility. Even though today, we
consider corn to be the same as [the very well known] Mexican maize, corn originally meant any grain – which is why
many prehistoric and ancient Fertility Goddesses were also called Corn Goddesses.
 Another fertility symbol of Corn Goddesses was snakes. Snakes were considered very fertile because of their mating
habits. Any representation of a snake or a Celtic knot [artistic representations of snake mating behaviour] will do.
 Shells both stimulate and represent fertility. Shells were a worldwide symbol used by numerous ancient civilizations.
The famous painting by Botticelli of the myth of Aphrodite/Venus rising from sea foam [believed to be
Poseidon/Neptune’s semen] in a shell perfectly illustrates how the shell is connected to fertility.
 Another connection was that shells [including pearls & mother of pearl] were of the sea. The sea was considered very
productive and fertile – for many coastal peoples, the sea provided their livestock.
 Bulls and cows are fertility symbols. A modern “bull” symbol is the bull’s horn found in Italian jewellery.
 Related to this are phallic symbols – a bull’s horn could be one. Since ancient times, phallic images have always
been used to promote fertility in both men and women and in virtually all religions ‘round the world.
 Frogs were fertility symbols in ancient Egypt and are still today in many parts of Africa. [Common superstition
requires you to rub the frog’s back or tummy and make a wish.]
 The Egyptian Ankh is known as the “key of life” and enhances fertility.
 My favourite fertility symbol is the little Fertility “Goddesses” of prehistory – nice, chubby little ladies with pendulous
breasts and big tummies. The most famous of these figurines is the obviously pregnant Venus of Willendorf. [She
has nice braids, too. Braids were representative of inter-twining snakes.]
 Hearts are a symbol for love, friendship, and lusty sex.
Angels

Invoke the Archangel Gabriel [Jibril – Islam/Muslim] if you wish to become pregnant. Gabriel is not only known as the
angel of hope, he is also known as the angel of annunciation. In kabbalistic [Jewish] tradition, it is Gabriel who

instructs children in the womb. Gabriel’s symbols are a lily [like the traditional Easter lilies], a trumpet, the direction
west, the season of winter, the element of water, and his colours are blue, orange, and white.
Pray to Theliel, as he is the Angel of love. Or, pray to Priapus, as he is the Angel of lust.
An Arabian Nights spell is for a woman to light a silver candle in Gabriel’s name, extinguish it in a goblet of water, then
drink the water without pausing, and repeat this for the nine nights of the full moon. She should then become
pregnant.
Crystals and Stones
Underlined crystals should be the easiest to find:
 To enhance and stimulate fertility: orbicular agate, arthurite, basalt, brookite, chrysopase, colemanite, cowrie shell,
damsonite, grossular garnet, gypsum, liebigite, moonstone, mullite, niccolite, pearl [sea-water or fresh-water] as well
as mother of pearl, barnacle quartz crystal, any other shell, orange spinel, tektite [meteoritic glass].
 To aid in balancing reproductive disorders: orbicular agate, basalt, chrysopase, cinnabar, colemanite, pink coral,
cowrie shell, niccolite.
 For overfertility [a real possibility if you’re taking fertility drugs]: pitchstone.
 To promote love, liking, and friendship – all important ingredients in a relationship between 2 people who wish to
become parents:
 Rose quartz promotes gentle love; Sapphires make you charming; Hematite attracts “kind love”; Diamonds and
emeralds are known as stones of love; Peridot promises married happiness; Garnet promises friendship and
renews love; Lapis Lazuli brings success in relationships; Pyrite promotes memories of love and friendship.
Herbs and Old Wives Tales
Trees certainly play a role in fertility spells. Interestingly, the three most magical trees of the Celts and Druids – the ash,
the hawthorn, and the oak – also are involved in fertility spells. “Tree” spells are usually for BOTH men and women:
 Wedding rites beneath an ash, an oak, or a hawthorn tree will help ensure fertility in the marriage for both the bride
and the groom. To promote fertility and to increase sexual potency, carry ash keys, hawthorn berries, acorns.
 Marrying beneath a banana tree gives luck to the bride [and therefore, fertility]. Carrying any part of the banana tree
helps increase fertility – leaves, flowers, and fruit.
 Barren women should walk naked underneath a Bodhi tree [Bo Tree, the tree that Buddha sat under].
 For both men and women, carry a phallic image carved from fig wood, which will help to overcome infertility and
impotency. Eating figs produce the same results.
 Wear myrtle – particularly, the bride – at weddings to become pregnant.
 Men should eat olives and carry olive pits to ensure fertility and sexual potency. Ditto for dates and date pits, except
dates are good for both men and women. The Japanese utilize peach and peach pits for the same purpose.
 Carrying a pinecone increases fertility. The most potent of all pinecones is gathered on midsummer’s eve. Eating
and carrying seeds and nuts also play a large role in fertility spells.
 Carry bistort/snakeweed/sweet dock, tubers of the cuckooflower [an orchid], mugwort [artemesia], any nut [except
walnut], poppy seeds, and skin of the pomegranate if you wish to conceive or to increase your fertility.
 Eat carrot seeds, cucumber seeds, hazelnuts, mustard seed, pomegranate seeds, poppy seeds, and sunflower seeds
to promote, enhance, and increase fertility.
 Besides being healthy – you should eat barley, corn, oats, rice, rye, wheat – all the grains.
 Throw rice at weddings to increase fertility of couple. [Now, you know why you throw rice!]
 In ancient Rome, grapes were painted on walls to ensure fertility. Eating either grapes or raisins ensures fertility.
 The following three flowers all have mild and relaxing scents and can be incorporated into candle spells:
 Cyclamen in the bedroom promotes conception; fresh Daffodil flowers [in a plant or cut] in the bedroom increase
fertility – as do white [pelargonium] geraniums.
 An easy way is to have flowers in bedrooms is to create a pot pourri mixture. Please make sure that all the items are
dried first. You can add any of the above herbs listed as well as any of the colours, scents, crystals, and symbols.
 If at all possible try to include horsetail and patchouli in your pot pourri. Horsetail is a plant that’s been around before
the dinosaurs and is able to survive almost any disaster – therefore, a pretty fertile plant.
 For those wishing “planned parenthood”, the following Old Wives’ Tale from Scott Cunningham…
 “If a woman about to be married wishes to delay any “blessed events”, she should place in her bodice as many
roasted walnuts as correspond to the number of years she wishes to remain childless. She must do this on her
wedding day.” [The relationship is probably based upon almost nothing will grow under or around a walnut tree.]
