Dear San Elijo Middle School families: I would like to take this opportunity as we look towards the end of the year to stop and give a BIG Thank YOU to our PTO and their Executive Board as well as all of our families here at SEMS. It is through their leadership and your support that we are so successful in our mission to enhance and enable the experience of ALL students here at San Elijo Middle School. Our students have a wonderful facility, support staff, a dedicated administration, and so many outstanding teachers and adults to guide them through their middle school experience. The first semester has been filled with very exciting times and I have included a summary list of all the great activities we do here at SEMS this year as a team with ASB and our PTO. Everywhere you look you can see evidence of the hard work from these groups. I want to especially thank our PTO for their continued focus on technology and supporting the Whole Child. Through the effort of all our parents and hard work by our PTO executive Board in planning, organizing, and completing our annual magazine sale and San Elijo Community Expo we have exceeded our approved budget for this 2012/2013 school year. This has enabled us to fund a school wide wireless network, a Safari Montage encoder for SEMS TV, an upgrade to our Gym sound system, New Lettering and security and safety upgrades, as well as much needed Intramural and PE equipment totaling over $30,000. This is a remarkable accomplishment in these difficult times. I commend them for their efforts. As always we are blessed here at San Elijo Middle school with a TEAM of students, parents, staff, and administration that strives to be the Best Middle School in San Diego County. There are many proficient and dedicated individuals you will meet throughout your student’s educational career. There are also individuals, who, because of their commitment to education and students, must be considered outstanding, our SEMS PTO, is outstanding. I would like to thank you in advance for your support as we move forward to June and all of the fun and enriching activities we will continue to experience here at SEMS. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at (760) 290-2803.
