PREFACE
I would like to thank all the people who have helped me gather this information. Without their
help this project would never gotten a good start. I spent many hours browsing census records at
Ancestry.Com and Heritage Quest. I also spent much time on various forums for the family
names.
When I first started this project, I had no idea where my paternal grandfather was born, nor his
parents’ names. I finally tracked him as the son of an Irish immigrant and his Irish immigrant
wife.
I have organized this book by families. The primary families are my Robinson line and my
wife’s Campbell line. Each of the major lines is followed by subordinate lines that fed into the
primary lines. Most pictures and documents are at the back of the book as attachments and are
referred to in the appropriate places. The number of persons I mention in this book is only in the
hundreds since it is intended to show only the direct lines back in time. However, I also have
made a CD with the Family Tree Maker program, version 16.0. One should be able to read it
with any Family Tree Maker program, version 16.0 and higher. It contains almost 9000 records.
Please excuse my inconsistencies in spelling, grammar, punctuation and capitalization. I am
more interested in getting accurate data than the aforementioned.
In all cases where possible, females are shown using their maiden name. This is in part because
that is their real name, and secondly, it brings a new family line into the discovery process.
Anyone may use the data contained herein for personal genealogical reasons, but not for profit.
The only exception to this is that my three sons, James, David, and Terry, may use the data for
any purpose they deem fit.

With this book, I have tried to show our family lines back to Europe. In
some cases, I have failed to accomplish this. I have started with the paternal
lines. When I have traversed that line as far as I can, I then back up to the
front and take the next maternal line that I have not previously displayed.
Then I show the paternal side of that line to the end and then back up as
before, and repeat the process. In a few cases, I show in addition to the
ancestral line for a person, their descendant line. This helps show brothers,
sisters and cousins which may be of interest. It may also help some
researcher in their quest.
The result of this is that the paternal lines will be easy to follow, but the
maternal lines will be harder, since they will appear after the paternal lines.
This method in no way implies that the maternal lines are less important. It
is simply based upon tradition, and the fact that the census records generally
show the male as the head of the household.
In all cases where possible, females are shown using their maiden name.
This is in part because that is their real name, and secondly, it brings a new
family line into the discovery process.
I sometimes use the term “Unknown” as either a first or last name, when I
cannot find the real name.
So this book is intended primarily to show my children’s ancestors. It is not
intended to be the whole family tree. That tree has almost 9000 persons in
it. It is in Family Tree Maker format and is included in the CD version of
the booklet.
I thank all of those who have provided input and research data to me.
