About Acupuncture Following protocols established for more than 3,000 years, fine needles are inserted at specific points on the skin to redirect the body’s vital energy, the Qi, in a healthier and more ordered manner to restore balance and wellness. Acupuncture is a tried and tested method of restoring and maintaining good health. It can be used alone or as a complementary therapy alongside other medical treatment. Stems & Branches acupuncture is the oldest style of acupuncture in use today. In practice, it connects the specific needs of the patient with the cycles of energy – like biorhythms – active in the natural environment on that day and at that time to individualise every treatment, making it truly holistic. Facial Enhancement Acupuncture Everyone wants to look their best, but the radiance of natural beauty comes from a healthy body and mind, achieved by treating the whole person. Facial Enhancement Acupuncture aims to correct the signs of aging by needling the face and addressing the root causes of an individual’s aging pattern, so the effects can be far more profound and inclusive than other procedures. Collagen induction therapy can also be employed to soften and plump deep lines and creases. Studies published in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture in 1996 showed that of 300 people who received Facial Acupuncture, 90% demonstrated marked results after only their first treatment. Ruth offers two facial enhancement treatments:Revitalising Acupuncture Facial (1 hour) A relaxing and revitalising facial to brighten and refresh the appearance of the skin. Acupuncture points on the face are needled to improve the circulation and restore a natural glow to the complexion. The facial concludes with an anti-aging acupressure massage using natural oils. Collagen Boosting Facial (1 hour 30 minutes) This facial combines needling of acupuncture points on the face and neck using special techniques to lift and tighten, with particular focus on deeper lines and creases using ‘Medik8’ products to help augment collagen production in the skin. An initial course of 6-8 weekly or fortnightly sessions is recommended for each, with monthly maintenance thereafter as required. © Ruth Burry
