- Manual Handling safety arrangements adhered to
- Staff undertaken an appropriate level of manual handling training
- Lifting equipment, trolleys/trucks used where appropriate
- Buckets/bags marked with a "maximum fill" line and all staff know not to fill above this line
- Ensure workbreaks* are taken to reduce potential for repetative strain injuries
- Ensure good levels of housekeeping in the cash room, especially around the counting machine
- Where possible ensure all house lights are switched on for the duration of the task. A torch to be used where
necessary for extra light.
- Ensure bags, buckets etc. are stacked appropriately and clear access to doors/escape routes
- Cash handling risk assessment to be referred to
- Operations Manual adhered to
* workbreak means a change in work activity i.e. cleaning machines, closing machines up or even making a
brew - NOT a break from work.
