Contributions or gifts to APPA are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However, they may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses subject to restrictions imposed as a result of APPA’s “lobbying” activities as defined by the Budget Reconciliation act of 1993. APPA estimates that the non-deductible portion of your dues – the portion that is allocable to “lobbying” – is 20%.
