Description:
Objectives:
This course, together with Acupuncture Therapeutics I, is a detailed study of
the therapeutic application of acupuncture points in detailed cases.. The student
will learn which acupuncture points are applied to the different types of
pathology such as: Internal diseases and Gynecological diseases.
Student will learn the prescription and selection of the acupuncture points In
different clinical cases and apply in real situations.

Course requirements:
1. Regular attendance as defined according to the SCUSOMA University catalog
and the California State Board Laws and Regulations, which state that students
may not receive credit for the course if they are absent fro more that two classes
or miss part of more that four classes (e.g., leaving early, arriving late) or any
combination thereof.

Course Outline:
Weekly topics, learning objectives and assignments.
Week 1:
Students will learn the selection of points in emergency diseases and syndromes caused by
exogenous pathogenic factors. It includes Wind stroke, Syncope, Sunstroke, Common Cold, and
Malaria.
Week 2:
Students will learn the selection of points in various Zang-Fu syndromes like cough, asthma,
epigastric pain, vomiting, hiccup, abdominal pain, diarrhrea, dysentery, and abdominal
distension.
Week 3:
Students will learn the selection of points in various Zang-Fu syndromes like jaundice,
constipation, prolapsed of rectum, edema, nocturnal enuresis, urination disturbance, and
retention of urine.
Week 4:
Students will learn the selection of points in various Zang-Fu syndromes like impotence,
insomnia, palpitation, manic-depressive disorder, epilepsy, dizziness, and melancholia.

Students will learn the selection of points the diseases of head, trunk and

Week 7:
Students will learn the extra points, their locations and indications and combination points of
them. Lumbar regions like headache, facial pain, deviation of eye and mouth, pain in
hypochondriac region, low back pain, Bi syndrome, and Wei syndrome.

Students will learn the selection of points in Gynecological diseases like irregular menstruation,
dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, uterine bleeding, morbid leucorrhea, morning sickness, prolonged
labour, insufficient lactation, and prolapsed of Uterus.

Week 9:
Students will learn the selection of points in pediatric and external diseases like infantile
convulsion, infantile diarrhea, infantile malnutrition, infantile paralysis, mumps, urticaria,
Erysipelas, boil, breast abscess, goiter, and sprain and contusion.
Week 10:
Students will learn the selection of points in the diseases of eyes, ears, nose and throat like
deafness and tinnitus, congestion, swelling and pain of the eye, thick and sticky nasal discharge,
Epistaxis, toothache, sore throat, and optic atrophy.
