The narrations are in different difficulty levels. There are listening comprehension quizzes that accompany. The sound plays using the player RealPlayer (free at www.real.com) Real English Interactive Video http://www.realenglish.com/ This site is a commercial site, and yes, it is trying to sell products. But they also offer FREE (continually updating) samples. The samples are full-motion, streaming videos of native English speakers speaking in natural settings (the samples play using RealPlayer). There are comprehension quizzes that accompany the videos. Webster’s Online Dictionary http://www.m-w.com/netdict.htm Webster’s dictionary is probably the most used dictionary in U.S. English. At this site, words can be entered, and they will be pronounced as a .wav file, playable on any PC computer. Also includes the Webster’s Thesaurus, with audio pronunciation of related words. CAUTION: While these sample Web sites above provide free activities, many commercial Web sites only provide an advertisement or brief sample, and instead want you to buy their complete product. © John Hickok, 2003.
