China’s swimming superstar Sun Yang was looking for his fourth gold medal as he led Zhejiang into the final of the 4x200-meter freestyle relay. The same four who had won the 4x100-meter relay on day five back for the 4x200 free hoping to repeat their success. Lv Zhiwu though didn’t make a strong start and Zhejiang was behind Hebei after the opening 200 metres. However, after that the Zhejiang team would begin to take control back as Wang Shun swam a strong second leg and that was backed up by Wu Peng in the third as they handed Sun Yang an over three second lead for the anchor leg and he would cruise to the wall to give Zhejiang the gold as he earned his fourth of the games. Henan took the silver, Shanghai the bronze.
