GARBAGE AND RECYCLING REMINDER To: Unit Owners and Residents From: Westford Real Estate Management, LLC Date: May 17, 2010 Re: Garbage and Recycling Reminder It has come to our attention that the Refuse & Recycling guidelines are not being adhered to by all residents. In particular, it has been reported that residents are 1) not securing their garbage bags properly, 2) failing to place filled garbage bags inside cans and/or 3) failing to properly secure garbage can lids. As a reminder of the Rules: Trash pick up is on Fridays and Recyclables are picked up on alternating Fridays. Garbage must be placed in a suitable container, by the curbside. Large items such as furniture, mattresses and electronics (TV’s computer monitors, printers, etc) should not be placed outside with trash. These items can be picked up by special arrangement with the refuse collector at the individual unit owner’s expense. Although, not a complete list, the following are currently considered recyclable items: Food and beverage containers made of glass, metal and plastic #1 - #2. Cardboard items (including cereal boxes/shirt boxes/fiberboard) should be flattened and bundled in bins. Newspapers, junk mail and magazines need to be bundled or in paper bags and can be intermixed. Please refer to the recycling guidelines mandated by the town of Shelton. We appreciate your anticipated compliance with the garbage and recycling rules.
