Business informatics’ EXPO May 2008 The Department of Business Informatics hosted its EXPO on the Pretoria campus on the 20th of May 2008 in the FNB auditorium in Building 6. There were 10 systems that presented: BMK: ProWoQ Management System: maintaining the project and project tasks information (online system) Cyber Technologies: Sponsored studies system: creating and maintaining the student study information and bursary information Independent Pros: Department of correctional service Recruitment system: capturing and processing job application candidates Masire Solutions: Nwandlela Data Management System: capture client, employee, supplier, and product and service information. MultiFrequency: Fleet Vehicle Booking System: The booking of certain BMW cars for events or use. Protocol Data Solutions: Metrorail system: The showing of train times, trains, stations and routes. Savvy Consultants: Tlase Inventory Management: Stock management system of hardware and software. Semaka Business Informatics: Bakgatla Transport Services booking: The booking of a driver with a car, to and from places. Stepping Up Communications: Asset Tracking Management System: Removing of assets from the company (booking, returning, faulty assets) The department was fortunate to have the clients of the systems present to evaluate the systems and the sponsors of the prizes. The results of the day are as follows: Best system: There were two systems that have been identified as the best systems, they are: MultiFrequency IT Developers (Pierre de Klerk, Marcel Jooste, Francois Carstens) and Masire Solutions (Theodorah Nkala, Alpheous Mokabane and Remmone Mareme) Prizes sponsored by LT Systems Best documentation: Masire Solutions (Theodorah Nkala, Alpheous Mokabane and Remmone Mareme) Prizes sponsored by the department of Business Informatics (Tshwane University of Technology) Best exhibition: Masire Solutions (Theodorah Nkala, Alpheous Mokabane and Remmone Mareme) Prizes sponsored by the department of Business Informatics (Tshwane University of Technology) Overall results are: 9 systems passed The coaches and I would like to thank all the clients (Johan from eBito, Zach and Pierre from LT Systems, Reginald from TlaSe Technologies) and the staff that helped on the day (Pieter, Francois, Ray, Susan, Nkqubela and Serge).
