 Designed the first multi-slit multi-slice spectral breast CT system based on an
energy sensitive photon-counting Si strip detector.
 Simulated the performance of the spectral breast CT in terms of absorbed dose,
spatial and contrast resolution.
 Accomplished breast density quantification with a spectral mammography
system based on an energy sensitive photon-counting Si strip detector.
 Conducted compositional breast imaging with spectral CT based on a
Cadmium-Zinc-Telluride (CZT) photon counting detector.
 Developed an image-based spectral distortion correction algorithm for
photon-counting x-ray detectors.
 Investigated the feasibility of breast density quantification with dual-energy
mammography.
 Studied breast density and tissue composition with flat-panel based cone beam
computed tomography (CT).
 Performed contrast-enhanced breast imaging with spectral CT based on both
CZT photon-counting and dual-kVp techniques.
 Developed and evaluated new algorithms for breast density quantification
using fuzzy C-means clustering.
 Studied the performance of dual dictionary learning iterative reconstruction
algorithms in breast CT applications.

Accomplished the band structure measurement of organic single crystal
rubrene with angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (AR-PES)
Investigated the spin injection and dynamics at organic interface with
time-resolved two photon photoemission spectroscopy (TR-2PPE)
Studied the electronic structure of the critical interfaces employed in a wide
range of application for organic electronics, such as OLEDs, OTFTs and OPV
cells, and successfully explained the enhancement of the device performance
induced by these interfaces
Developed a fundamental model to understand the electronic structure
modification induced by alkali metal doping in organic semiconductors, which
is essential for interface engineering in order to improve the charge injection
Conducted x-ray photoemission (XPS) or electron spectroscopy for chemical
analysis (ESCA) measurements for a variety of samples, including metals,
inorganic semiconductors, nanoparticles, polymers and so on, as a
collaboration with researchers from Chemistry, Chemical Engineering,
Material Science and Biomedical Engineering
