E-mail: siuhsc@siu.edu Dear Graduate Coordinators, The University Women's Club Scholarship Fund provides one scholarship in the name of the late Mrs. Fred Davison, wife of the President of the University of Georgia from 1967-1986, to a female graduate student who is a resident of Georgia. The Dianne C. Davison Scholar will be named by the Graduate School on behalf of the University Woman's Club. The amount of the award for 2009-2010 will be up to $3,000, but is contingent on market fluctuation. . Nominations for the 2009-2010 Dianne C. Davison Scholar Award are now being accepted. Criteria for nominations include: 1. Being a female resident of Georgia (according to the UGA Registrar) 2. Having advanced to doctoral candidacy (form must be on file in the Graduate School) 3. Conducting dissertation research during the year of the award 4. Maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA for graduate coursework of 3.5 Nominations may be made by the nominee's Graduate Coordinator, with support provided by the Chair of the Doctoral Committee. Department's may submit only one nominee for consideration by the review committee. It should include: a) student information following the outline attached and b) the nominee's vitae, followed by c) a letter of nomination specifically addressing the nominee's research and its potential contribution to the discipline. Please submit three copies of *all* nomination material to Libby Johnson, Graduate School, 320 E. Clayton Street, Suite 400. Nominations must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 13, 2009.
