Joined Aga Khan University and Hospital (AKUH) from January 2006 and
presently working as Medical Technologist in the departments of Hematology,
Biochemistry, Microbiology Coagulation, and Blood Banking.
My duties are:

Performs C.B.C routine coagulation testing, Body fluid analysis,
Urinanalysis & other miscellaneous test using complex analytical
procedures & instrument according to established manual methods.
Performs microscopic examination of peripheral smear urine sediments
& body fluids.
Reporting of Peripheral blood smears to make primary diagnosis of
different types of Anemias Leukemia’s and other diseases, this report is
consulted by Pathologist to give the final diagnosis.
Read understand & follow all applicable SOP'S. Through knowledge of
Hematology bench.
Performs all aspects of Urinanalysis resulting in complete reports. This
include determination of specific-gravity, assessment of urine volume,
color & clarity, assay of dipstick chemistries. Most importantly accurate
reproducible microscopic evaluation of urine sediment for cellular
elements crystals bacteria mucus and casts.
Provides leadership & direction for the operation of routine hematology
laboratory and the speciality area (Special hematology) to assure timely
& efficient service according to established standards.
Provide assistance to the technical staff in handling work-load &
determining priorities.
Trouble-shoots & resolves all technical and employee problems with
the help of Pathologist.
Reviews Patient & QC results for accuracy and completeness.
Maintains,calibrate and trouble shoots all laboratory equipment.
Develops and maintains schedules and work assignments for laboratory
staff.
Assist the procedure of bone marrow aspirate & trephine with
pathologist.
Activity involved with the pathologist in the procedure of fine needle
aspiration Cytology(FNAC) from Breast, lymph Nodes, Thyroid.
