STALLION: Mare Owner is contracting for Stallion Service to Stallion

at the above address on _____________________, 20__.
3. STALLION SERVICE FEES: Mare Owner agrees to pay Stallion Service Fee of $_
__, with a nonrefundable booking fee of $300.00 upon signing this contract and the remainder of the Stallion Service Fee of
$______________ upon leaving mare with the care of Shasta H Ranch
Mare Owner agrees to pay $_$10.00_ per day for dry mare care, $15.00 per day for wet mares, Owner to be
billed 1st and 15th of the month should the mare remain longer than 1 (one) week on the property of Shasta H
Ranch. All fees shall be paid within 10 days of billing, or upon picking up mare. Mare will not be released until
all monies (boarding, services and veterinary fees, etc.) are paid.
4. LIABILITY AND CONDITIONS Mare Owner agrees to hold Kenneth and Christine Hadden and Shasta H
Ranch not liable for any accident, sickness or death to the mare and or/foal. Mare Owner assumes all risk of
loss or damage to the mare and or mare and foal while in the care and custody and control of Stallion Owner
and will insure against any such loss at his/her discretion.
Mare Owner agrees to pay any needed vet services due for breeding services or for emergency care, making
arrangements to pay Veterinarian directly (furnishing payment information to Veterinarian Office prior to mare
being delivered).

Mare Owner must provide Shasta H Ranch with immunization certification (including equine
rhinopneumonitis), and negative inter-uterine culture (within past 60 days) and agree that mare has had all
necessary veterinary care before arriving at Shasta H Ranch. Shasta H Ranch has permission to check the mare
for normal health and breeding soundness and render any treatment or immunizations necessary. The expense of
this service will be charged directly to the mare owner.
Mares MUST BE BAREFOOT. Shasta H Ranch is authorized to remove shoes and have farrier trim the mare if
not properly prepared before arrival.
Stallion owner is under no obligation to cover a mare which is deemed to be in unfit breeding condition, such
determination to be made at the sole discretion of Shasta H Ranch. Stallion owner reserves the right to return to
the Mare Owner any unfit mare without any further obligation.
5. MARE CARE AND BREEDING CERTIFICATES: Shasta H Ranch and Kenneth and Christine Hadden
agree to care for mare, feeding hay provided by Shasta H Ranch and supplement, if provided by Mare Owner.
Shasta H Ranch will exercise their best judgement in supervision and care and maintaining a healthful and safe
environment for the mare.
Shasta H Ranch will not hold mare owner liable for any damages incurred by the mare while on Shasta H Ranch
to other livestock or property.
Stallion Owner will also provide all breeding dates and necessary paperwork for registration of the foal,
retaining the right to refuse to provide Breeding Certificate should all payments for stud fee and mare care not
be paid.
6. LIVE FOAL GUARANTEE: Shasta H Ranch and Kenneth and Christine Hadden offer a Live Foal
Guarantee to each Mare Owner. This is defined as the ability of the foal to stand and nurse upon birth. After
initial standing and nursing, Shasta H Ranch and Kenneth and Christine Hadden no longer take responsibility
for foal’s well being.
The Mare Owner will take responsibility during gestation to insure health of mare, including recommended
vaccinations, and subsequently the foal. If it is found that the foal’s death prior to initial stand and nurse was
caused from Mare Owner neglect, the Live Foal Guarantee is null and void. A Veterinary Certificate as to
foal’s cause of death must be submitted within 7 days to obtain a return breeding.
Should the foal be premature, stillborn or not viable to stand and nurse, another breeding to the mare or
substitute mare will be guaranteed to Mare Owner the following year. Mare Owner must pay for Mare Care and
other services rendered upon return for rebreeding. There shall be no right of return if the mare is sold or
otherwise changes ownership after being serviced by Stallion. Veterinary Certificate shall be furnished
within 7 days as to cause of foal loss. If it is determined loss of foal is due to Mare Owner’s neglect, return
breeding is null and void.
7. ASSIGNMENTS: This contract is NOT assignable or transferable from Mare Owner to any other party prior
without express written approval of the Stallion Owner. No substitution of any mare may be made without prior
written approval of the Stallion Owner.

8. BOARDING: The provisions of this contract shall apply to any and all mare and or foals which are boarded
at Shasta H Ranch.
9. REFUNDS: Should the Stallion die prior to Service rendered, the Service fee paid less the booking fees
shall be refunded.
10. MODIFICATIONS. This AGREEMENT constitutes the complete understanding between the Mare Owner
and the Stallion Owner, respectively. Oral changes and modifications shall have no effect. This Contract may
only be amended by a subsequent written instrument signed by Mare and Stallion Owners.
11. GOVERNING LAW. This AGREEMENT shall be construed, interpreted, and enforced in accordance with
the laws of the State of California. County of Shasta.
12. MEDIATION. Any dispute that arises out of or relates to this Contract, or the breach of it, shall be resolved
by mediation between parties. A mutually agreed upon mediator shall be used. However, if agreement cannot be
reached, each party shall select on mediator and those mediators shall select a third. Mare Owner agrees to pay
all court costs, including reasonable attorney’s fees, if any legal action is required to enforce any provision
hereof.
13. GURANTEE OF PAYMENT: We the undersigned agree to the above terms as legal and binding and
governable by the laws of the State of California.
