United Nations, NY Friday, 9 October, 2009. Dr J. Scott Moore, President of
ECOSOC NGO Project One, hosted a meeting in the United Nations Church
Center, with special guests TBN co-founder Jan Crouch ( NGO SMILE OF A
CHILD) , and Les Cheveldayoff of TBN’s Holy Land Experience in Orlando,
Florida.
The meeting was opened by Dr. Moore, who is also pastor of Trinity Life
Church, one of the fastest growing interdenominational churches in Alabama,
and host of Church TV’s Destiny Today.
He then introduced Jan Crouch, wife of TBN’s Paul Crouch and founder of the
Smile of a Child Network.
Jan gave testimony of how God miraculously healed her from colon cancer
seven years ago after doctors had given her up for dead.
She told the audience, composed of members of the international community
- diplomats, UN Staffers etc. - how excited she was that Smile of a Child, her
recently founded organization to help children around the world, had been
accepted as an official NGO by the United Nations Economic and Social
Council. With a number of projects including a children’s hospital in Haiti
already under way, Smile of a Child is looking for new ways to help put smiles
back on the faces of the worlds’ poor children.
Les Cheveldavoff, told the audience how God took him from flying airplanes to
serving God as a Christ figure with TBN’s Holy Land Experience in Orlando,
Florida. Thousands visit each year to experience God’s anointed presence
through exhibits, live shows - including reenactments of the life of Jesus with
Les in the lead role - and the peaceful settings at Holy Land. Les, in costume
as Jesus Christ, then led the gathering in the UN Church Center in holy
communion.
The meeting closed with a word of encouragement and song by one of the
ministers working at Holy Land who, along with Les still in his costume as
Jesus, encouraged the gathering to serve the needs of mankind, at their very
special location in the UH headquarters, as they would serve the Lord. The
meeting closed with gifts and words of encouragement to the international
group and a promise of future such meetings in the months ahead.
