Teacher Strategies: 1- Mac will tell them the story and I want you to listen carefully to the sound of familiars words in his story: ‘I am a cat, I wear a hat, I sat on a mat, I ate a big rat, and I am fat’. 2- The teacher will reread the story again. The students rebate after him the rhyming words. When they say the word I will put it on the whiteboard. 3- The teacher will use the magnetic letters to write the rhyming end 'at' I will ask the student to say the sound of each letter I put on the whiteboard. 4- The teacher will put the first letter of each word "cat, hat, mat, rat and fat" ask the student to say the sound of each letter before we add it. Like in cat the two letters at will be already on the board and the students say that sound then when I put letter c the teacher will ask the students what is that letter, what is the sound of this letter, what is this word cat. 5- The teacher will do this with each word " cat, hat, sat, mat, rat and fat" 6- Activity # 1: give each group magnetic letters to make rhyming words end with 'at' sound. 7- Ask each group to read the words they have made. 8- The teacher say: Now I have a bag try to guess what in it "man, van and pan". 9- Ask three students to take out an object from the bag and tell me what it is. 10- The teacher will use the magnetic letters to write the rhyming end 'an' I will ask the student to say the sound of each letter I put on the whiteboard. 11- The teacher will put the first letter of each word "van, man, and pan" ask the student to say the sound of each letter before we add it.
