At the completion of the Morning Program, participants will be able to:
 Define Hypertension as stated by guidelines. Recognize obstacles to controlled hypertension. List the risk factors
and long term effects of hypertension. Review ACEI, ARB and DRI use in hypertension with a focus on
effectiveness, adverse events and cost.
 Provide an overview of the medically insured. Identify barriers to obtaining medications necessary to manage
common health problems. Discuss options to decrease pharmaceutical costs. Discuss available resources to access
medications without cost.
 Define hepatitis C virus. Identify distinguishing factors of hepatitis C virus. Define treatment responses for hepatitis
C virus. Explain current treatment modalities used in the treatment of hepatitis C virus.
At the completion of the Afternoon Program, participants will be able to:
 Define osteoarthritis of the hip and knee. Identify tools appropriate in diagnosing osteoarthritis of the hip and
knee. Recognize appropriate treatments for osteoarthritis of the hip and knee.
 Recognize changes in the NHLBI 2007 asthma guidelines from the previous guidelines. Identify severity and
control in making the diagnosis of asthma, and in monitoring asthma. Recognize barriers to monitoring and
controlling asthma.
 Define and describe signs and symptoms of concussion. List sideline evaluation of concussive patient. Define head
injury classification and grading severity of concussion. Name the return to play protocol for concussion. List
preventative measures for concussion.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received in writing to SNAP at least 7 days prior to the seminar will be refunded.
Cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the seminar will be refunded 50% of the amount paid. No refunds will be
made for cancellations or no-shows the day of the seminar. Registration may be transferred to another participant at any
time to avoid cancellation fees.
An application has been submitted to the Indiana State Nurses Association for approval of 3.5
contact hours for each program.
ISNA is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses
Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
* A completed evaluation and 90% attendance at the education activity are required for CE credit.
