DAIRY CATTLE CODE OF ETHICS
The showing of registered cattle is an important part of the promotion and development of their respective breeds and it plays
an important role in stimulating and sustaining interest in breeding registered cattle.
The Gatton Show Society believes it is in the best interest of the breeders of registered cattle to maintain a reputation of integrity
and to present a professional and progressive image in the show ring.
The Gatton Show Society further believes that cattle presented in the show ring should be presented in a natural, (normal
appearance), condition.
The Gatton Show Society recognises certain practices within the processes of showing cattle which are not acceptable.
THE FOLLOWING PRACTICES OR PROCEDURES ARE CONSIDERED UNACCEPTABLE AND ARE DEFINED AS BEING
FRAUDULENT AND / OR UNETHICAL IN THE SHOWING OF REGISTERED CATTLE.

natural contour of appearance of the animal’s body.
d) Use of artificial hair except for false switches.
e) The use of tranquilizers, sedatives, or depressants which alter the physical or physiological state of the animal is illegal.
Exceptions to this rule would be a licensed, certified veterinarian’s treatment for a recognized disease or injury.
Show management reserves the right to require animal health certificates.
f) The hygienic sealing of teats to prevent infections will be permitted ONLY under Veterinary supervision.
3. Criticising or interfering with the judge, show management or other exhibitors and any other behaviour considered
