Competition Categories- No Glitz Outfits
Evening Gown/Party Dress - (All Contestants) Dress should be age appropriate. Pageant Dress (not Sunday Best) required. The
evening gown a contestant chooses should reflect their personal style and compliment their personality. Top four contestants in the
Miss age division after the Evening Gown, Introduction and Casual Wear competitions will each draw a question to be answered on
stage for the judges.
Casual Wear - (All contestants) No swimsuits
Outfit should be age appropriate and reflect your personality and style. Be prepared to show your personality as you walk the stage to
upbeat music.
Introduction – Junior Miss, Teen Miss and Miss contestants will each be given a maximum of 15 seconds to introduce themselves on
stage during the Casual Wear competition.
Photogenic - (All contestants) Please mail in or bring in a 5x7 photo to be judged for photogenic competition. Additional photos may
be entered for $10 each.
Label each photo with the contestant’s name. All photos must be picked up immediately after the pageant. Your photo will be
featured on the Contestants Page in the pageant program book.
*If you turn in your photo after July 1st, we cannot guarantee that it will appear in the program book. No photos accepted on
pageant day.
Each contestant will receive a participation trophy!

All contestants are encouraged to sell ads. The contestant who is the top dollar ad seller will be named as Miss Sun Festival Alexander
City Cover Girl
* Awards: Front cover of the Miss Sun Festival Alexander City program book, trophy, crown, and official monogrammed sash, and
crystal crown banner pin.
* Runner Up - Full page inside cover of the Miss Sun Festival Alexander City program book and trophy.

Ads can be mailed, emailed, or turned into Alexander City Chamber of Commerce at 120 Tallapoosa Street or
kdunn@alexandercitychamber.com.
Ads may or may not include a photo of the contestant. Please put contestant’s name on all ads and photos. Businesses may
claim advertising as a tax deduction. Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Friends can buy Good Luck Pages!!

Backstage Pass – Each contestant will be allowed to have one female backstage with them throughout the pageant. Please tell your
friends or family members to wear their pass or they will not be allowed backstage. No cameras allowed backstage at any time. No
men allowed backstage. Passes will be handed out on pageant day.

Each Queen will receive Official Miss Sun Festival Alexander City Full Round Crown, Monogrammed Satin Banner, Crystal
Crown Banner Pin and Trophy, the opportunity to ride in the 2015 Alexander City Homecoming Parade & Christmas Parade,
the opportunity to crown her successor, the distinguished privilege of representing Sun Festival Alexander City for one year,
and much more! The queen for the Miss division will also receive a scholarship in the amount of $400 payable to a college of
her choice.
Runners-Up There will be 3 runners up in each age division that will receive a trophy and satin banner.
Photogenic Winners will each receive a beautiful trophy.
Each contestant will receive a participation trophy!

Awards subject to change. This is the first draft prize list – we are getting sponsors and adding prizes weekly.
No cameras allowed in the auditorium during the pageant. Our official pageant photographer will have photos for sale. Order forms
will be available at the pageant, or items can be ordered in advance.

IMPORTANT – Bad sportsmanship will not be tolerated by contestants, parents, or audience members at any time and
may result in either immediate disqualification without refund or removal from the auditorium without refund.
NO ONE may approach a judge before or during the pageant.
Mail us a self addressed envelope and we will mail scores to you after pageant. Scores will not be given out at pageant!
All judges’ decisions are final.
Entry Fee: $100.00 for all age divisions: Evening Gown, Casual Wear, Introduction, Photogenic, and all side events
Admission Tickets: Doors will open to the public at 9 a.m. on pageant day. Everyone except contestants and backstage
pass-holders must pay admission.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. Children 5 & under are free.
Cash and credit cards will be accepted at the door. NO checks accepted at the door. **Tickets are good for all portions of the
pageant, all day.
