Prerequisite Revision Review
I. Summary of Prerequisite Revision
Dept / Program
Geosciences
Prefix & Course #
Course Title
Sedimentary Petrology
Has the Department gone through common course review?
If Yes or In Process please use new rubric / numbers.
Rationale 
Geo 443
□XYes □No □In process
GEO 442 is intended to be a companion class for GEO 443, not a prerequisite. On the other hand, it is
critical that students have some formal background in basic sedimentary geology prior to taking GEO 443.
GEO 211 or GEO 309 as prerequisites fulfills this purpose. Similarly, they need to have a solid baseline of
content knowledge in basic earth materials, and GEO 226 provides this content base.
