Job Description Coordinator of Bilingual/ESL JOB TITLE: Coordinator of Bilingual/ESL WAGE/HOUR STATUS: REPORTS TO: Director of Student Accountability TERMS: DEPARTMENT: Curriculum & Instruction PAY GRADE: Exempt 226 Days Administrative 6 PRIMARY PURPOSE: Supervise the Bilingual/ESL, and accelerated programs. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: Hold a Master’s Degree From an Accredited College or University Hold a Supervisor or Mid-Management Certification Bilingual Certification is Preferred Experience: Have at least three to five years of classroom experience. Supervisory/Administrative experience is preferred. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Accelerated Instruction 1. Oversee development of Title VI and SCE budgets, ensuring coordination with other funding sources. 2. Ensure compliance with all legislation related to these programs. 3. Observe and monitor classroom instruction. 4. Provide technical assistance to teachers and principals. 5. Collaborate with administrators and teachers to provide appropriate staff development. Review and edit written communication in Spanish for public information release. 9. Lead curriculum development. 10. Provide, or arrange for, appropriate staff development opportunities. 11. Observe and monitor classroom instruction. 12. Provide technical assistance to teachers and principals. 13. Coordinate selection of appropriate instructional materials, serves on all Bilingual/ESL textbook committees. 14. Ensure appropriate testing of students. 15. Ensure proper functioning of LPAC committees. 16. Ensure compliance with all related legislation. 17. Supervise itinerant teacher. Other 18. Seek alternative funding sources. 19. Submit Title VI budget application, coordinate funding for campuses, and provide leadership in spending of funds. 20. Comply with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations. 21. Adhere to the district’s safety policies and procedures. 22. Maintain confidentiality in the conduct of district business. 23. Must be able to perform the essential functions of walking and interacting with students and/or district employees in the specific work site assigned (classroom or office setting).
