A Special Note
Many Room 22 children have not yet learned to tie their
shoes . In order to make the most of the instructional
time in the room, please help your child master this skill at
home. This will help to eliminate distractions during
teaching time as well as lessen the time it takes us to get
ready for recess. Thank you!
Math
In math we will assess on Unit #8 and begin work in Unit 9.
We will focus on: 10’s & 1’s patterns on the number grid,
adding/subtracting by 10’s, number grid puzzles,
adding/subtracting 2 digit numbers, fractional parts of the
whole, comparing fractions, and names for fractions.
Science
Reading Homework
Please continue to read at home with your child. Books and
folders should be sent back to school by Friday.
Many studies have shown that children who read at home
develop a life-long love of reading and learning. Reading at
home is statistically linked to successful reading at school.
Thank you for helping your child to become a successful
reader!
Wild About Reading
Please return your March reading
calendars. April calendars were sent home.
Thank you!
SAVE THE DATE
We will be having an end of the year patriotic
program on Friday, May 24th and YOU ARE INVITED!
Our program will be @ 1:45. Please plan to join us for
this special event!
We will begin our FOSS/Science
unit- Pebbles, Sand and Silt. The
students will investigate rocks as
earth materials and natural
resources. They will come to know
rocks by many names and in a
variety of sizes. We will also discuss Spring and the
changes in nature (animals, plants…)
Notice
As the weather gets warmer, many children come to
school with sandals. Please be sure your child’s
sandals have a back strap. Flip flops are prohibited
because of safety concerns. Thank you for your
cooperation.
Box Tops
We will be collecting Box Tops in our classroom this
year. This is great additional revenue for our school!
Please send any box tops you’ve collected into school
with your child.

A Special Note
I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet with each

wonderful progress that Room 22 friends have been making
this semester. They have been working so hard here at
school! I want to take this time to also thank you for all of
your hard work at home!
