BRIEF STATEMENT OF DUTIES
1. Provide a clinical service within the Western Australian Gynaecologic Cancer Service, including surgery,
outpatient gynaecologic oncology clinics and colposcopy assessment/treatment clinics, including after
hours on call/call back and emergency support to the obstetric and gynaecological services.
2. Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs.
3. Undertake clinical research in gynaecologic oncology.
4. Participation in hospital, state and national committees.
5. Contribute to the delivery of customer focused services by participation in collection of ACHS and other
clinical indicators, AIMS reviews and clinical audit and peer review programs.
6. Contribute to policy development as relevant to areas of general and specialised medical expertise.
7. Maintain personal knowledge and skills and participate in a continuing professional development program
as required by RANZCOG.

Medical degree registrable by the Medical Board of Western Australia
Fellowship of RANZCOG or equivalent qualification recognised for registration as a specialist in WA
Possession of the CGO RANZCOG or equivalent subspecialty certification. Overseas subspecialty
qualifications in Gynaecologic Oncology must be approved by the Royal Australian and New Zealand
College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Overseas applicants must possess an RANZCOG approved
subspecialty qualification in Gynaecologic oncology and be eligible to sit for the CGO examinations or be
awarded the CGO by the RANZCOG.
Overseas RANZCOG recognised subspecialists must obtain the CGO within 2 years of commencing this
position.
Documented training and experience in Colposcopy and related treatment of preinvasive disease of the
lower genital tract in the female
Demonstrated expertise in advanced laparoscopic surgery (RANZCOG level 6) and pelvic surgery as
related to gynaecologic oncology practice
Familiarity and expertise in contemporary clinical practice
Demonstrated commitment to clinical research
Commitment to and demonstrated ability in clinical teaching
Commitment to personal professional development
Demonstrated ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team
Ability to liaise, communicate and maintain effective interpersonal relationships
Demonstrated ability to participate in the establishment and maintenance of clinical protocols
Expertise in clinical audit and in the application of continuous quality improvement principles
Resident in Perth greater metropolitan area.

Diploma in Palliative Care or equivalent

HOURS OF DUTY: FOUR SESSIONS PER WEEK
APPOINTMENT FACTORS: : Evidence of registration by the Medical Board of Western Australia
must be provided prior to commencement. This position is subject to a successful Criminal
Record Screening Check and a successful Pre- Placement Health Screening Clearance Check.
This position is also subject to a Working With Children (WWC) Check. This is a compulsory
check for people who carry out child-related work in Western Australia.
