General information about the attractions of the theme park
(Erlebnispark) Tripsdrill
100 Inventive Attractions
Erlebnispark Tripsdrill, Cleebronn: Tripsdrill lies in vivid natural
surroundings within the Stromberg-Heuchelberg nature park. By
building the first Old Women's Mill (Altweibermühle) in 1929, the
grandfather of the current owners laid the foundation for the
theme park. Tripsdrill is located between Stuttgart and Heilbronn
and offers over 100 original attractions spread over 77 hectares.
Visitors can look forward to two major attractions, the wooden
roller coaster "Mammut" and the new catapult roller coaster
“Karacho”, sure to provide them with plenty of thrills. The recently
opened unique accommodation facilities and the wildlife park
(Wildparadies) are perfectly suitable for nature-loving families.
2015 season:
28 March – 8 November
Daily from 9:00 a.m.
Catapult roller coaster "Karacho"
The big new attraction is the themed catapult roller coaster
"Karacho". At the start, the vehicles accelerate from 0 to 100
km/h in 1.6 seconds. The ride takes you to a height of 30 meters.
It covers a distance of 700 meters and roller coaster fans can
look forward to the following special effects: four different
overhead elements, rapid changes in centrifugal forces and parts
of the ride in complete darkness. Thrills are guaranteed on the
Karacho ride, where visitors are only held in their seats by a lap
bar.
Wooden roller coaster "Mammut"
The wooden roller coaster "Mammut" is clearly visible from a
distance. The vehicles are designed to look like saws, rattling
through a sawmill and figuratively cutting through the beams.
Before the ride begins, visitors receive a first impression of the
world of sawmills by arriving via a unique exhibition: Parts of
historical sawmills from all over Germany have been set up in the
waiting area. The wooden roller coaster "Mammut" is the first
themed installation of its kind in the world.
Castle "Rauhe Klinge"
Both the roller coaster “G’sengte Sau” and the log flume
“Badewannen-Fahrt zum Jungbrunnen” pass through the
mediaeval Castle “Rauhe Klinge”. The numerous stylistic
elements copied from various castles of the “Castle Road” – a belt
of castles, which runs through the region – give the Castle
“Rauhe Klinge” its authenticity.
Log flume "Badewannen-Fahrt zum Jungbrunnen"
Sitting in grandmother’s nostalgic white bathtub – complete with
shower, soap holder, bath towel and plughole – this log flume
takes its visitors straight through the mediaeval Castle “Rauhe

Klinge”. In the castle’s dark cellar lies the mystical Fountain of
Youth (Jungbrunnen). Life-size figures of old fragile women
climb into the fountain and come out moments later as young
girls. Then it’s backwards down another flume, back into
daylight. The final flume catapults the visitors from a breath
taking height, at a speed of 65 km/h, straight down a steep slope
into the castle’s lake.
Roller coaster "G’sengte Sau"
The roller coaster “G’sengte Sau” is a unique combination of Wild
Mouse ride and a coaster. The visitors travel in ancient sledges
through the Castle “Rauhe Klinge” at speeds of up to 50 km/h.
The gravitational pull produced by the acceleration of the sledges
(similar to that of a launching space shuttle) causes the
passengers bodies to be pressed at three times the force of
gravity (3 g) against their seats.

White-water rafting “Waschzuber-Rafting”
On the way to this ride, the visitors can first of all see a replica of
the original washhouse built in 1808. The exhibition on the
history of washing shows ancient washboards, washing
machines, mangles and irons. Afterwards visitors float
downstream in authentic-looking washtubs through whirlpools,
waterfalls and rapids – with more than 4.500 liters of water
flowing per second.
2015 season:
28 March – 8 November
Daily from 9:00 a.m.
Village Street (Dorfstraße)
Just behind the main entrance is the Village Street, with its
rustic, half-timbered houses, the indoor playground "GaudiViertel" on the right and the cosy Village Café (Dorfcafé), with its
corner shop, on the left. The family attraction maypole
“Maibaum” at the end of the street allows visitors to steer their
own gondolas and decide how high they wish to fly. This
attraction is one of the prototypes developed and designed by
Tripsdrill. Then the Klomann (man on the toilet), made of real
Swabian natural stone, can be found in the Village Street.
Indoor playground “Gaudi-Viertel”
The new indoor playground “Gaudi-Viertel” allows both children
and adults to have fun in an enormous games room. The interior
of the building complex, which is made up of seven half-timbered
houses, offers unlimited games to play over a total of three
floors. Launched by canons, fountains and nozzles, hundreds of
soft balls fly through the air. Climbing, sliding or riding on the
eight-metre-high "Murmelturm" (a free-fall tower for children) –
the Gaudi-Viertel has something for everyone. The toy museum is
another thing well worth seeing that fits into the general theme.
Here, antique toys, from Märklin tin railways dating back to 1920
to doll's houses are exhibited, appealing more to the older
visitors.
In the Mill Valley
Old Women’s Mill (Altweibermühle) and obstacle course
"Altmännermühle"
Tripsdrill is demonstrably Germany´s first theme park. Already
in the 17th century the myth of a mill which gave women youth
and beauty spread throughout the land. In 1929, the first Old
Women’s Mill including a slide was built to commemorate the
history of this mythical site. As the park’s oldest attraction, it is
also the emblem of Tripsdrill. Ever since this oldest attraction
stands for Tripsdrill´s birth. It burnt down in 1946, but the
owner´s family Fischer rebuilt the park´s emblem. A few steps
away in the obstacle course “Altmännermühle”, men would
undergo several tasks to prove how fit and skilful they were.

The two-tier drop tower “Doppelter Donnerbalken” consists of
two trees with a view of the Mill Lake (Mühlensee). In the 17th
century, this was home to Waldbruder Huzelin, who lived in
nearby Stromberg. Now he has come to live at Tripsdrill, in a tree
house high among the tree tops. His little garden may be seen on
the neighbouring tree. If you have no fear of heights, you can
visit him in the tree tops at a height of 15 metres. Here, the beam
tilts forward and thunders downwards in free fall.
2015 season:
28 March – 8 November
Daily from 9:00 a.m.
Boat ride “Spritztour für Seefahrer”
This short trip takes visitors across the Mill Lake. As an
interactive attraction, it is yet another prototype in the over 80year history of Tripsdrill. The wooden boats are designed to
resemble a picnic scene - complete with table cloths, coffee cups,
plates and cutlery. The best thing is that visitors can splash each
other during the ride, using watering cans, coffee pots and wine
bottles.

Soapbox race „Seifenkisten-Rennen“
Right behind the Old Women´s Mill – heart of the new theme area
Mill Valley – takes the interactive soapbox race “SeifenkistenRennen” its course. The vehicles look like hand timbered. Two
people start at the same time and reach during their ride a top
speed of 14 km/h. You can steer and control on your own without
any rails or curb stones. The theme park Tripsdrill has patented
this so long unique system.
2015 season:
28 March – 8 November
Daily from 9:00 a.m.
Log flume „Mühlbach-Fahrt“
As a further water attraction in the Mill Valley, the log flume
“Mühlbach-Fahrt” is waiting for the youngest – right behind the
Old Women´s Mill. The ride goes in giant flour sacks along the
course of the stream with a three-and-a-half meter high flume at
the end. This counterpart to the log flume “Badewannen-Fahrt
zum Jungbrunnen”, Europe’s highest flume ride, was specially
designed for little children, who for safety reasons are not yet
allowed to go on the log flume through the Castle “Rauhe Klinge”.
Jolly Vineyard (Fröhlicher Weinberg)
Typically for Tripsdrill, this area is imbued with history. It
includes the vineyard museum “Vinarium”, an open-air exhibition
on the theme of wine-making, with numerous historical vintners’
utensils. The wine barrel ride “Weinkübelfahrt” spins visitors, as
if tipsy, through the Jolly Vineyard and past the vines.
The park offers many shady spots that are ideal for family picnics
and little breaks to restock the energy reserves for the children's
attractions to follow.
Vineyard museum “Vinarium”
The vineyard museum “Vinarium” was built in Tripsdrill in 1976
and modelled after a historic wine-press-building. The ownerfamily Fischer, who grew wine themselves earlier, collected in
the years before many old squeezing machines and tools for
wine-growing. Meanwhile, the biggest collection of squeezingengines of Germany can be found here.
In the top floor of the Vinarium are wine-growing and the
different stages “From the vine to the glass” described very
detailed. Tools to work on the grapes like squeezing engines, and
tubs are exhibited in the ground floor. In Vinarium´s wine cellar,
visitors can taste some of the finest wines of the region – and
keep the Vinarium glass as a free gift. Outside the entrance to the
building, visitors can go on the wine barrel ride
“Weinkübelfahrt” through the picturesque grapevine-covered
slopes of the surrounding enchanting vineyard.

The marriage market has brought an old custom back to life.
Originating in the 15th century the harvest festival
“Katharinenmarkt” was a place where boys and girls sought and
found a partner for life – and therefore popularly called marriage
market. Visitors experience a fun tour complete with the
traditional
courting
(Fensterln),
honeymoon
ride
“Hochzeitsreise”, wishing well (Kindlesbrunnen) and the
elevated railway “Wiegen-Hochbahn”.
2015 season:
28 March – 8 November
Daily from 9:00 a.m.
Children’s attractions
Tripsdrill has a reputation for taking into account the needs of its
youngest visitors. In addition to the cuddly goats at the petting
zoo, there are special children's attractions such as the boat ride
“Spritztour für Seefahrer”, the log flume „Mühlbach-Fahrt“, the
animal train “Moggelesbahn”, the duck boat tour “EntenWasserfahrt”, the butterfly ride “Schmetterlingsflug”, the
laundry basket ride “Wäschekorb-Rundflug” or the water garden
“Wassergarten” with its jumping water snakes.

Family attractions
Tripsdrill offers something for the entire family. There is the
roller coaster “Rasender Tausendfüßler”, the chairoplane
“Wirbelpilz” or the old shoe ride “Schlappen-Tour”. Not
forgetting the wine barrel ride “Weinkübelfahrt” and the coffee
cup ride “Kaffeetassen-Fahrt” in the world’s largest coffee mill
(14 meters tall).
Food and drink
Choose between the cosy waiter-service restaurant "Gasthaus zur
Altweibermühle", the rustic “Verspergarten” or the secluded
“Mühlengarten”. Wherever you go, there are many freshly
prepared Swabian specialities to be sampled – from traditional
"Fladenblooz" to "Maultaschen" (Swabian pasta) and the
"Württemberger Weinpfännle".
2015 season:
28 March – 8 November
Daily from 9:00 a.m.
Wildlife park (Wildparadies) Tripsdrill
It is only a 10 minutes´ walk from the theme park to the wildlife
park with its forest adventure path (Walderlebnis-Pfad), barefoot
path (Barfuß-Pfad), adventure playground (Abenteuerspielplatz)
and about 40 species of rare wild animals. In the various outdoor
enclosures visitors come very close to the animals, can pet them,
and feed them out of their hand. The Arctic wolves and brown
bears live together in community. Exciting is the feeding of the
wolves, lynxes, and birds of prey, daily at 2.30 p.m.– except
Fridays - as well as the impressive flight demonstration at 3:30
p.m. at the falconer's grandstand, also held at 11:30 a.m. during
the main season. The Tripsdrill day pass already includes the
entrance fee for the wildlife park. By the way, the wildlife park
stays open throughout winter on weekends, national and school
holidays.
Accommodation surrounded by nature
What could be better than spending a night amidst nature? Just
outside the wildlife park, surrounded by the forest and its wild
life, Tripsdrill offers various types of accommodation for a
comfortable overnight stay that’s anything but ordinary. The 20
shepherd´s wagons can accommodate up to five people and are
equipped with heating, sink, refrigerator, TV and fan. The
modern communal sanitary facilities are centrally situated. The
latest addition to Tripsdrills’ accommodation options are the
comfortable, spacious, tree houses in the Tripsdrill forest, each
accommodating between 2-4 and 5-6 people. Equipped with
heating, fan, refrigerator, TV, shower and toilet, these five
houses offer visitors total comfort in an unforgettable setting.
