PRESS RELEASE
November 2013
Insert unit as a parallel-opening or projected top-hung window:
Schüco AWS 114
Schüco offers its new AWS 114 aluminium window system for
constructing parallel-opening or projected top-hung windows
with two types of thermal insulation and glazing. As façade
windows with standard insulating glass and a continuous glazing
bead, the thermally insulated Schüco AWS 114 and AWS 114.SI
"Super Insulation" insert units can be seamlessly integrated
without adversely affecting the uniform façade geometry. As allglass façade windows with stepped insulating glazing, the
thermally insulated Schüco AWS 114 SG system and the highly
thermally insulated AWS 114 SG.SI system offer a wide variety of
design options. There are also clear advantages in terms of
fabrication and installation.
The thermally insulated Schüco AWS 114 and AWS 114 SG insert
units permit glass thicknesses of 24 to 44 mm, whilst the highly
thermally insulated units with the suffix SI are able to accommodate
triple glazing with glass thicknesses of 28 to 52 mm. As parallelopening or projected top-hung windows, the units can be easily
integrated into FW 50+/FW 60+ mullion/transom façades, FW 50+
SG/FW 60+ SG all-glass façades, AOC 50/AOC 60/AOC 75 add-on
constructions, as well as USC 65 and UCC 65 SG unitised façades.
The new generation of fittings is easy to install without any need for
pre-drilling, and efficiently fixed in place using sliding blocks. The
entire fittings system is also self-locating and can be adjusted under
full load. A high degree of prefabrication in the workshop guarantees
efficient fabrication and provides planning reliability. The complete
window unit is installed efficiently in the façade installation space due
to the new clip technology, which significantly shortens the installation
process on site.
The Schüco AWS 114 window can be operated manually or using the
concealed and easy-to-install Schüco TipTronic drive technology. A
unit with this configuration is burglar-resistant (RC2) and can be
constructed to be suitable for safety barrier loading. In the AWS 114
system range, vent weights of up to 250 kg are possible for units
equipped with the Schüco TipTronic drive technology. Depending on
the type of fittings, safety classes between SK 0 and SK 4 can be
achieved.
