Baccalaureate Program Goals
The Baccalaureate program prepares nurse generalists who:



Apply professional standards (ANA, 2004) in a variety of settings serving diverse populations;
Demonstrate competency in the application of nursing knowledge in practice; and
Participate as members of the nursing profession.
Baccalaureate Curriculum Objectives
The Baccalaureate program prepares nurse generalists who:






Develop therapeutic relationships with individuals, families, groups, and communities;
Utilize critical thinking and ethical principles in the implementation of standards of practice;
Collaborate with clients, families, and health care professionals in the delivery of care;
Utilize research findings in practice;
Demonstrate the ability to promote health in diverse populations; and
Participate in efforts to influence health care policy.
Baccalaureate Expected Student Outcomes
Graduates of the Baccalaureate Program are prepared to:



Practice nursing in any health care setting;
Sustain life-long learning; and
Contribute to the profession of nursing.

Master’s Program Goals
The Master’s Program prepares advanced practice nurses who:


Provide health care to diverse populations
Demonstrate professional leadership roles
Master’s Curriculum Objectives
The objectives of the Master’s Program curriculum are to provide advanced practice nursing
education focusing on:




Health promotion of diverse populations
Management of health problems in collaboration with clients, families and health professionals
Leadership in the profession
Research utilization for evidence-based practice
Master’s Program: Student Outcomes
Students of the Master’s program are prepared to:



Practice in the advanced nursing role of the specialty
Collaborate with clients, peers and other health professionals
Demonstrate leadership in the profession of nursing
