Comparisons of G-matrices using the Flury hierarchy (Phillips and Arnold 1999), published as of
the end of 2007 (further details provided in spreadsheet). The outcomes of statistical
comparisons are classified into five categories: matrices equal; matrices proportional
(eigenvectors and ratios of eigenvalues equal, but absolute size of eigenvalues different);
matrices with all principal components, or eigenvectors, shared (full CPC); matrices with at least
one but not all principal components shared (partial CPC); and unrelated. Comparisons are
divided into those among (a) experimental treatments within taxa, (b) sexes within taxa, (c)
natural populations within taxa, and (d) species (comparisons representing an interaction of more
than one of these factors were excluded). Many studies conducted multiple pairwise
comparisons and so are reflected in multiple counts.
