Dr Peter Chapman-Smith

Graduated in Otago 1976, a family doctor in Whangarei for 24 years with an interest in
Anaesthetics, Obstetrics, and Sports Medicine. An examiner of commercial divers and
pilots, (AME1), with a long interest in diving and aviation medicine.

Full time Appearance Medicine physician, specialising in nonsurgical varicose vein
treatments, skin cancer and minor cosmetic surgery, and liposculpture under tumescent
local anaesthesia. An Affiliated Provider for Southern Cross Healthcare NZ, for
nonsurgical vein treatment and skin cancer surgery.

Active NZMA member, Northland rep. since 1987, elected to the NZMA GP Council for 6
years.

Academic convenor for the GPCME meetings, run annually in NZ in conjunction with
the NZMA. PCO for GP educational meetings on and offshore since 1987.

Specialist phlebologist - treating varicose veins with endovenous laser and ultrasound
guided sclerotherapy, with regular clinics in Northland, Hibiscus Coast and Otago.
Published research on vein treatment, a frequent speaker on Appearance Medicine and
Phlebology internationally.

