Alexander Iossifov Alexander Iossifov (1940, Sofia) graduated from the State Academy of Music in Sofia. He studied composition with Prof. Pancho Vladigerov, conducting with Prof. Konstantin Iliev and piano with Prof. Eugene Kovacheva. He is Professor at the “Pancho Vladigerov” State Academy of Music and New Bulgarian University. Iossifov is winner of 17 awards from many international composition competitions in Italy, Japan, Greece, Poland, Germany, Yugoslavia, Turkey, Czech Republic, Russia and the “Golden Orpheus” festival in Bulgaria. He is member of the International Association of the Piano Duos in Japan. His works have been performed at concerts and recorded for radio stations and television all over the world. Iossifov has written over 1500 compositions in all music genres. He is holder of the Honorary Cross of Merits of the Ministry of Culture in Poland.
