Amount: $2,000 ($1,000 per semester)
Availability: Annually, Nonrenewable
Who Should Apply
College of Business majors (accounting, business administration, business economics, finance,
health care administration, information systems, management, marketing) who are members of
any of the following American ethnic minority groups: African-American, Southeast Asian,
Hispanic-American, or American Indian OR have economic need as determined by the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Criteria
 Admission to the College of Business as of Fall 2015
 Full-time student standing (12 + credits) during the Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 semesters
 Good academic standing
 GPA of at least 2.75
Application Procedures
Please submit the following information to the College of Business Scholarship Committee,
Schneider Hall 110 by Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 4 PM:




Completed application form (see the reverse side of this announcement)
Advising (unofficial) academic transcript
Chronological list (most recent first) of College of Business activities, honors and leadership
roles
Chronological list (most recent first) of university and community activities, honors and
leadership roles
An incomplete application packet will disqualify a student from scholarship consideration.
Selection Procedures
The College of Business Scholarship Committee selects the award recipient in consultation with
the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
Notification
By letter.
Special Notes
This scholarship was created in 1995 by Northern States Power Company to help academically
qualified students achieve their dream of obtaining a college education. Scholarship recipients
should direct a letter of appreciation to Mr. Michael Swenson, President and CEO, Xcel EnergyWisconsin, in care of Gretchen Hutterli, Chair of the Scholarship Committee, UW-Eau Claire
