We use your comments to schedule courses locally, or at our annual Kentucky Training Institute. Introduction to Disaster (ARC 3066) is required before taking additional courses. This course will also prepare participants to begin conducting liaison activities in a chapter and establish a foundation upon which they can build toward a career as a liaison in the Disaster Services Human Resources (DSHR) System. Disaster Assessment Workshop ITS 2.5HR Required: Introduction to Disaster Services (ARC 3066) The purpose of this interim training is to provide an overview of the new and revised concepts, procedures, tools and resources contained in the recently released Disaster Assessment (ARC 30-3049) document. This workshop will enable chapter disaster leadership and Disaster Assessment workers to begin to incorporate these concepts into planning, training and response activities. Disaster Health Services: An Overview A3076-1 3.5HR Required: Introduction to Disaster Services (ARC 3066) The purpose of this training is to provide basic information about the activities of the Disaster Health Services (DHS) function of the American Red Cross. Participants will learn more about what various knowledge skills, and abilities are needed by Disaster Health Services staff as well as how they can get involved in their local chapter. Disaster Health Services: Simulation A3076-2 8HR Required: Introduction to Disaster Services (ARC 3066) Required: Disaster Health Services: An Overview (ARC 3076-1) The purpose of this training is to provide participants an opportunity to practice the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to work in the Disaster Health Services function on a disaster relief operation. This course completes basic Disaster Services preparation to work in Disaster Health Services (DHS) on local and national relief operations. Disaster Kitchen Training A3068-30 16HR Required: Introduction to Disaster Services (ARC 3066) Required: Mass Care: An Overview (ARC 3068-1) The purpose of this course is to prepare Red Cross and partner agency staff to work at a kitchen site and prepare large numbers of meals for those affected by a disaster. Activities at a kitchen site include: preparing the food in the kitchen and working in the yard/supply area and mobile feeding area, if needed.
