ICAROB COPYRIGHT FORM
This form is intended for original, previously unpublished manuscripts submitted to the
International Conference on Artificial Life and Robotics (ICAROB).

The completed and signed form is necessary as a prerequisite for publication. Please send it
with the final version of your paper. No other form or wording modifications is allowed.

Part A: Copyright Transfer Form
The undersigned hereby transfer any and all rights in and to the paper including without
limitation all copyrights to The International Conference on Artificial Life and Robotics, Inc.,
known as ICAROB. The undersigned hereby represents and warrants that the paper is
original and that he/she is the author of the paper, except for material that is clearly
identified as to its original source, with permission notices from the copyright owners where
required. The undersigned represents that he/she has the power and authority to make and
execute this assignment.
In return, ICAROB agrees to the following:
1. Employer/authors retain all proprietary rights in any process, procedure, or article of
manufacture described in the paper.
2. Employer/authors may copy, or authorize the copy of, the paper, or derivative portions of
the paper for company/personal use, provided the copies are not offered for sale, that the
source of the material is indicated, and that ICAROB's endorsement is not implied by the
use.
3. Employer/authors must request permission from ICAROB for copy privileges not covered
by items 1, 2 above (such as third party requests for reprinting, republishing, etc.).
4. ICAROB recognizes that the Japanese and U.S. governments have royalty fee permission
to copy, or authorize the copy of, all/portions of the paper for official Japanese and U.S.
governments purposes only, when the contained work was done under Japanese and U.S.
governments grant/contract and the grant/contract so requires.
If the paper is not accepted and published by ICAROB, or is withdrawn by the author(s)
before acceptance, this agreement becomes null and void.

This certifies that all authors of the paper are employees of the U.S. government and
performed this work as part of their official duties, and that therefore the paper is not
subject to U.S. copyright protection.

Information for Employers/Authors
* It is the policy of ICAROB to own the copyrights to all copyrightable material in its
publications, and to the individual contributions therein, in order to protect the interests of
ICAROB, its authors and their employers. ICAROB will make every reasonable effort to act
in the interests of employers/authors as well as in its own interests. For all third party
republication requests, ICAROB requires that:
* The consent of the first-named author be sought as a condition in granting republication
rights.
* The consent of the employer be obtained as a condition in granting permission for reuse
of a paper or portion thereof for promotion/marketing purposes.
If you are employed and you prepared your paper as a part of your job, the rights to your
