1) This standard is derived from the Year 10 achievement objectives from Understanding Faith

National Centre for Religious Studies, 2002 revision.

2) Assessment will be consistent with the policy for junior assessment of the individual school offering the assessment.

3) In this standard, students will be expected to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of

(a) the circumstances that led to the establishment of the Catholic Church as the universal

Church of Western Europe and factors that led to the East West schism

(b) the similarities and differences between the Church in the East and in the West
