Long Vowel Poem

Click on “A Meal by the Sea” poem
Have students hear the poem first, then read it together, followed by sound search and find the word.
Transition Activity Picture -N- long vowel word Match
Pass out pictures and long vowel word cards to students and have them find the person with the matching word and picture. There is 1 picture for 4 word cards to form teams. During matching, play music (any song choice) from

Activity 2
Making silly sentences with long vowels.
Having already cutout the sentence squares from the handout, have student teams create a silly sentence together. After they finish their sentence, have the team make up their own silly sentence, using the same long vowel word they have, and write it on the sentence strip. Share with class.
